The best way to break it off with a girlfriend is to be honest, sincere, and straight to the point. Its seems easier to do it through an email, text message, or phone call. But try to sit her down and do it face to face. Just be gentle and direct. She will appreciate it in the end and it will be a more pleasant breakup, good luck!

Tell her the truth in a compassionate way. The sooner the better. Do not keep her hanging on the line if you are really going to leave her. Give her the true reasons for the split and be kind as possible to her feelings.

I am a girl, so i'll let you in on a secret. We dont like people lying about why they are dumping us. Just be honest, the truth may draw a tear, but its better than lying then her finding out and totally flipping on you! Get it over and done with ASAP and make sure everything is nothing but the truth!!

Be kind and do it in person. Tell her why you are breaking up in the most honest way you can without sounding vengeful (unless you are breaking up with her because she cheated on you, or something). It is best to use "I" statements. "I feel we have drifted apart." "I was really hurt when that big date was canceled at the last minute so you could get your hair done." Blaming, or making it sound like you're blaming, is the worst thing you can do (again, if it is not for something evil she did!).

Be honest but not to honest, girls like to hear the truth but if the reason you're leaving her is because of another girl or something like that, that's something she doesn't need to know. She'd feel inadequate and that on top of the break up would kill her self esteem.
DON'T WAIT! she's prob already caught on to the way you feel and it's prob making her uneasy.

The best way would be to tell her the truth about how you have lost interest in her if thats the case. Or you feel you are not as compatible as you might have thought, be honest.

Start of by telling her that the relationship was great but u feel like its going no where. Tell her that we had some fun times and some bad times but I feel that we need to break up and start dating other people but I would like it if we can be friends.

Depends on what you want out of it. Quick and clean seems to be a good one. Then again the no calling, no hanging out for a few months seems to be a popular one if you want random hookups later on.
