I see non-Christians make claims like the quote below all the time on here. Does any Christian actually believe this? I consider myself a fundie but I don't believe this. If you are leading a life of sin you are not a Christian. What do the other Christians here think?

"It makes fundies really difficult to talk to sometimes because they truly believe they can sin as much as the want as long as they love Jesus."

Gumby - you have never seen me do anything except point out the word of God to people. If someone says is homosexuality a sin I say yes and provide scripture. If someone asks if JW's are Christians I point out where there beliefs conflict with the Bible. I only state what the Bible says. It is God's judgment I am pointing out. Not mine. By the way by saying I judge aren't you judging?

No, they can't. Christians who believe that don't read their Bible, where it says, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" Romans 6:1-2

Thats ridiculous. If a christian thinks they can sin carte blanche and they're safe because they believe, then they don't really believe. You're supposed to struggle constantly against your sinful nature. Just because you have a green shirt doesn't make you a boy scout. God is not fooled. On the other hand even the best Christian is a sinner. If you are a Christian by definition you are a hypocrite, its unavoidable. Marilyn Mansion isn't a hypocrite, he's doesn't try to limit his behavior because of God, you can't break rules if you make the rules. But Mother teresa was a hypocrite, and no matter who "saintly" she was she was still a sinner and believe me she knew it.

I consider myself a fundie as well, but this is absolutely false. I hate my sin. I strive not too, but, alas, we are not perfect, as only one is. Jesus.

One cannot lead a life of habitual sin and be a Christian. The Holy Spirit convicts our hearts into repentance and to obey the Lord. One who is claiming to be born again in Christ and sins and states this is falsely saved, and is not a Christian.

While it is not ours to judge, this person does need reproof and help from the church to get past this attitude of self.

God bless.

I'm a liberal Christian and I don't agree with that statement. Most fundies are difficult to talk to because they are narrow-minded.

Someone living a as a Christian should be able to make choices in their life that are not sinful. But we Christians are human and still sin even though we intend to live with good intentions. Thankfully, we can ask for forgiveness.

This is a common issue and the problem is we all sin and being a fundie does not mean you are perfect, but the world does not want to take that into consideration.

Just make sure you are not living in a glass house and throwing rocks. Live your relationship with Christ as you feel He is calling you to live it.

Why do you except the words of men, Jesus called those that believe in His Words, or His works, Disciples and followers.

Men gave you the name of christians and fundies, because they know you follow not the Word's Jesus spoke, but the Word's of them you choose to follow, and under the laws of Jesus, you commit adultery. You can not choose Jesus and then become disciples of Moses, the Prophets, Peter nor Paul.

To be a true disciple of Jesus, study and do only what His Words and the Word of His witness John tell you.

The whole thing about deathbed conversions does seem to make decent behaviour a low priority with Xians. Incidentally, only "fundies" are real Xians. And Rev. Phelps is their poster boy. He's the epitome of the American Xian. Non-fundies are something else. Perhaps we could call them Xian-humanists. Anyway, they are on the wrong bus.

I believe a lot of people who claim to be "religious" (any religion) judge others because they assume they have that power because they take on the title of belonging to a religion. It is much more than that. Christians are very well known for doing this. Judging others and identifying their sins. Condemning them for this and reporting that they will go to hell. Hypocrites make up the christian religion, as well as many others.

That is so "intellectual" statement that it is not even funny.

It is never OK to want to sin. God hates sin because it prevents His will be done in our life and breaks the relationshipw with us and God. He wants us to confess our sins, and repent. And when we do, we are able to love one another better.

Non-belivers can think that they do not ever sin, but God knows us. So you can pretend to be a good person without God, but we are like tips of the ice berg. God sees also what is undert the water line. And He wants us to be real with our sin problems so that He can forgive us and bless us

That would be baptist...once saved always saved. Yeah...

Anyway, I am a fundamentalist, and I know for a fact that I can't sin pretty much anytime and not get embarrassed when the Holy Ghost talks to me. I try to live like Christ, as much as I can. We all should.
