There is no way any aspect of the holocaust could have been exaggerated and even if the numbers were, does it make up for the fact that innocent people had to suffer and die for no other reason but being jewish? There are people (usually of the white supremacist persuasion) that try to tell people that the holocaust didn't happen or that it was over exaggerated at the number of people actually killed, and this may be where the 'exaggeration' statement came from. It is ridiculous to think that people actually still can believe things like that, but ignorance comes in many forms.

NO.
The number (SIX MILLION) was recorded by the Nazis themselves; the ones who actually committed the murders.....
All those who claim the numbers have been exaggerated, are Muslim holocaust deniers who want to deny the Jews their homeland.
In their minds, the modern state of Israel was created only as a response to the Holocaust (not true), and European Jews who fled the Holocaust do not belong in the Mid-East (NOT TRUE: Israel is the only homeland of the Jewish people).

"Is it propaganda to make Christians like Hitler seem undesirable?" LuLz So Hitler replaced right into a sturdy bloke? of course you already know no longer something of Hitler... nor of conflict. examine Mein Kampf - there is an exterior danger you could study something different than the three hundred,000 grammatical errors he made. hence right this moment i've got faith that i'm appearing in accordance with the desire of the Almighty author: by using protecting myself against the Jew, i'm struggling with for the artwork of the Lord. I am not sure if the numbers are right or not. But from the late sixties the number rose steadily from about three million to the six million total then it became six million but just Jews with no count of Russians or Gypsies and now it has just about doubled to eleven million total again.
I imagine in another twenty five years or so we will be told that Hitler killed more people than lived in Europe at that time.
Anybody who questions the latest numbers is always branded as an Anti-Semitic Holocaust Denier and any enquiry into the sources of the numbers is always squelched.
I will point out that every time the number starts to rise there is something else the Holocaust is used to justify in the Middle East. I would pay close attention to what happens in the Gaza strip soon. I think you will see Israel apply their version of the final solution to their problem with the Palestinian Ghetto there.

-------
Note that the Wannsee Protocol number is referring to how many they expected to eventually deal with and is not the number they killed. But now you have people claiming that is the new number.

We live in an Orwellian world.

As previous posters have already stated there were meticulous records kept and remember that this event happen very recently. Europe is still a highly anti-semitic country and this nonsense of questioning the holocaust is propagated by David Duke and white supremacist groups as well as some Islamic organizations. All of these people have some agenda against the Jewish people.

As a Jew I don't entirely understand the baseless hatred against us. I have lived my life with out stretched arms to my fellow man in acceptance and tolerance. Perhaps it gives a sense of purpose to a poor souls life of misery to base their life of hate.

This one always has puzzled me. Even if it were true, does it diminish the horrible act one iota? NO! 900,000 deaths through genocide vs. 6 million? Still monstrous. Still an attempt to wipe out an entire people. So why exagerate?

The only real numerical mistake people make is when they start talking about all of the people killed in the camps-- 10,000,000. Six million were Jews, while the rest were gypsies, homosexuals, communists, etc. Those two figures are sometimes mixed up.

No. People simply find it so hard to believe that many Jews were killed that some say it must be made up. It's a hard thought to picture, but it did happen.

Half the world's Jewish population disappeared during World War 2.

It sure as hell wasn't a rapture.

The Jewish population of the world took sixty years to recover to the population from the beginning of the war.

Meanwhile, the world's population has more than doubled.

There are some ideas, some say the number is higher, some say it should be lower, some others say: totally holocaust is wrong, and some say it's right, but misused..
I think all of them are some cases can be true or false. I think, I can not give a right idea, because I didn't research about it....
