Depends how old you are. The record for a mile dash is about 3 min 50 sec, and Marathon runners do 26 miles in 130 minutes, or a mile in 5 minutes.
I see you ran 2 miles. Keep working on developing the stamina to run further; the speed will come by itself.
PS: If you are under 13 (which I suspect), you shouldn't be in the Answers. Read the agreement.

Any time is a good time because you are running it.
Big tip...forget about speed ...think about stamina..
1.go out for a 30 minute run and make a note where you got to after 30 mins, turn around and try to get back in less than 30 minutes.
2.Next time do the same run for 30 mins but try to go a bit further in the same time, turn arouind and try to get back in less than 30 mins again.
3. Do this three of four times, and then start to increase your time...so try running for 35 minutes and return then a few weeks later 40 mins and so on.
4. After a while you'll notice that your sprinting capacity has increased, as you try to beat the return time. Build on this, and you'll be running 9 minute miles for 26 miles, which will get you through a marathon, who cares if you can't do 4.5 minute miles.
ps..if you want to increase your sprint time...work harder on your TIMED runs.
so...don't go for a set distance with a faster time....go for an increasing distance and build your stamina.
Good luck...if you follow this you'll be able to do a marathon in one year...trust me , I should know.

It's a good time but it also depends on what your goals are. If you are running to lose weight then slow it down and run further. If your goal is strictly speed, then that's another story.
You generally need to run more than 20 minutes for your body to start burning fat. You also want to keep your heart rate up for a certain period of time, but in a safe manner.
I am 40, run 3 to 4 miles a day and average a 10 minute mile.

well for the mile its different than the 2 mile. Im 15 years old and my mile time is 5:12 and i have asthma. Pace yourself as you run and you should hit the 5~6 mins in no time

It depends upon how old you are, and what your goals are for running the mile. If you're a woman under age 30 you should be able to run it say in under 7 minutes, if want to get in super good shape. Otherwise 9 minutes isn't too bad for someone who just recently started running!

Well, a 4 minute mile is close to the world record, so a six minute mile would be a good time..I did 6min 30 sec in high school...just the one mile though.

5 something for one mile. For 2 miles 6 min/mile is pretty good. If you're talking a 5k then 8 min/miles are OK.

That's good. I'm a freshman in high school and that's faster than some people in my class do in the 1 mile.
