What about all the genuine Christians that live in each community? What about all the charity being given in every immaginable form around the globe every day in the name of Christ?

Yes, noticed it alot. But I also notice that we all do it. Everyone talks about all the bad a person or a group of people do and blame it on what they believe in or the color of their skin,or which country their from... Nobody wants 2 get honest and REALLY say that, they just like 2 hate. we're all so conditioned 2 not like people, 4 whatever reason. I say that we all challenge ourselves, for 1 day. Instead of talking about somethin bad about our least favorite groups we talk only about whats good with them. EVERYTHING & EVERYBODY has a good and bad side. Could we do it? and if we found it hard 2 do would we make excuses about it or would we take a look at this terrible, (worse than smoking) habit that we all have?

I applaud the Christians who do good deeds. It is only the basic tenant of their faith.

It is only what many other people who do not need a religion to do it, also do as well.

However, perhaps the reason Christians open themselves up to more scrunity and less leeway is because they claim to be the ONE TRUE faith and the ONLY one God favors and the ONLY one that has many morals and therefore should decide what EVERYONE Christian or not, should do with their lives and what rights and freedoms they should have.

When you make such claims, expect to be looked at VERY closely. You cannot complain and cry "Persecution" when people point out the inabilities many seem to have in living up to those claims.

I like the Christian missionaries that go to the jungles of South America and entice the Amazon Indians, who are living healthy lives in their little villages in the jungle, to come out, move into the mission town, wear clothes, don't hunt anymore because the mission has a contract with the logging company to keep the Indians out of the jungle, let them catch diseases they have no immunity to, have their men become alcoholics, the women become prostitutes, and then put the pictures of their children into ads begging for money because the children are living in slums that the missionaries basically created.

I saw all this in person on a trip to study the Amazon Indians when I was working on my anthropology degree.

You should be proud.

I would be more than happy to discuss that... once I see Christians recognizing the good Pagans and Atheists do as well. That is one of the main problems I have with this topic. People want everyone else to recognize the good in Christianity, but those same people refuse to recognize those Non-Christians who actually do something good... even if it is just within their own communities. But I'll start... all of my Christian friends, OFFLINE (I can't speak for those online as I don't really know for sure) have worked with me to feed the homeless, send toys and money to orphanages, etc... They have done good... But again, they were also working right by my side doing all of this too.... and I'm a Heathen.

Here's a country that has Christianity as its religion, yet they don't want to acknowledge it. You see the "Atheist approach" to things now, like in the movies.(30 Days Of Night. You know what scene. It's practically commercialized.) Or they ridicule it like its some hoity, toity, yuk, yuk, religion. (Simpson's, South Park, etc...) Its all subliminal, slowly being brought in.

Shame isn't it? They gotta creep that sh-t in on you. What's next? They'll put out a movie that promotes kids to kill God and do what they want? Oh wait...It's not CHRISTmas yet.

Wow talk about a persecution complex

May be it's because they think that theirs is the only belief system that matters....Most religions are faith based. What their parents or peers or social environment is, is what dictates why a person believes what he or she believes.

Why do Hindus, Muslims, etc. believe what they do?
Though in todays pagan beliefs it is more of a "popular culture" thing some is social environment, or peers but most is of a rebelious nature that holds over from the 50's.

Pity is it's only dirt that's mucked up here.

Be it about Christianity, Islam, Judaism or any other religion.

Peace.
