Many, I think I can safely say most, Christians believe that live begins at conception, there is a soul created at that time.

So, please put the emphasis on HUMAN soul. Jesus was a living person...the Spirit of God dwelled in Him...but was a HUMAN soul created?

Thanks for your polite answers. I do have my own ideas but I like to read what others say.

Well that show's what this Baptiquakacathacostal knows.

Sorry to my Catholic friends. I am referring to the conception of Jesus. Again...my apologies.

But that brings another question...how was Mary conceived, then?

I believe a human soul was created. Jesus was 1/2 man , 1/2 God. At the crucifixition, blood and water spilled from his body fulling the prophecy.

So yes, I do believe a human soul was created.

Actually the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception refers to Mary being born without the stain of sin, at least according to Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox doctrine.

Your question rather points to the issue of what theologians have called the hypostatic union, Jesus Christ as true God and true Man.

So, most christians would agree that we are not talking of a divine soul in a human body. You can visit the link below for more to read.

You just don't get it do any of you people understand the "idea that GOD the Creator of life " For knew all of us individually one human at a time??? Don't you understand that God even knows when and where and how you will be born and how when and where you will die and if you will choose to follow his beloved son Jesus Christ to the very end or are you also blinded by the lies of Satan which is so prevalent in our daily living! Or do you follow some other God as a jewish man let me tell you that there are dire consequences for doing and living in this manner so because God loves us and chooses for us to not be programmed like everyone else , God gave us a free will to do as we please with the hope that we would all accept his son Jesus Christ and his teachings or once again are we too proud not to listen to the son of the creator of life???? I truly wonder!!!!!! Jesus wants all of us to come to him and accept the ONLY WAY OUT OF LIFE and place us into eternal life! God knows all about us when we will lie when we will cheat when we will spitefully use one another everything! Read the bible it is all in HIS word! He can never ever lie to any of us!.....Fonzie

The human body is a soul. Jesus was a soul as a human.Eze 18:20 Says the soul that is sinning will die.the soul is not a spirit but flesh and blood.

the immaculate conception was that God created Mary with no stain of original sin on her soul, that the rest of us are born in, Jesus was sin-less, of corse he was not born with original sin He was God, this need no explaination, but the Mother of Our Lord, not being God, but to bear God in her womb needed to be pure in order to bear Jesus who cannot exist in sin, God did this for Mary so she could be a fitting tabernackel for our Lord.

No.That's dualism of Eastern Mysticism. And any answers on the spirit and soul can be found in God's Word. There's no need to speculate on such matters.Jesus had a human body, but was and is divine in all other respects.Read the Gospels more carefully.

I don't think a HUMAN soul was created. Jesus had a human body but he was still GOD. His soul was pure unlike ours. I really had to think about this. very good question.

What are your ideas?

Mary was the Immaculate Conception (at least according to Catholicism), not Jesus.
