If you have a puppy and you're not sure how to train it, I strongly suggest puppy classes. The dog not only needs to learn to go to the bathroom outside, but also needs to understand the basic commands - Come, Sit, Stay.
But to answer your question, you must keep a very close watch over your puppy unless it is in its crate. As soon as you see the dog squat to pee, say NO. You don't have to be mean, but maybe say it in a high pitch to startle the dog. Then you have to take the dog directly outside and try to keep it outside until it goes to the bathroom and you can give praise for what it's done correctly. Never yell at your dog for going to the bathroom unless you catch it in the act - it will confuse the dog.

There's a product sold at PetsMart called No Go! Spray it in the places where your puppy tends to use the bathroom. You may also want to purchase Puppy Pads for accidents that happen in the house. Place the puppy pad by a door that you usually take the puppy outside so the puppy will get used to going to the same door as used to go outside. I wish you luck with your puppy.

Okay, there are a few ways.
1.
it may take some time but..
when the puppy does the "duty"
in the house you go over and put
her outside. you have to do that right when she does it tho or else she wont understand why your doing that so you have to do it right when your pup does it.
2.
you can attach a bell at the door leading to your backyard and whenever (she or he) goes to the bathroom just ring the bell, eventually the puppy will get the hang of it

Within the hour of my puppy eating I would take it outside and tell it 'potty' over and over and when he did, praised him for it and go back inside. If he didn't go, I'd wait awhile (half hour) and try again. They do also sell potty training pads that people have told me do work. Lot of work in training, but worth it. If he does go in the house, just pick him up immediately and say 'no' and take outside and say 'potty' again. They do usually learn fast. Mine took just a week or so. Good luck!

when you see the puppy going in the house, clap your hands loudly and say "no!" then bring the puppy outside right after.
they should get the hang of it after a while

you need to let the dog out more often.how old is it?
it can only hold it as long as its age 3 months=3 hour 4months = 4 hour etc.
on a leash, out side stand in one spot, same spot everytime
when the dog goes give it a treat and say good potty.
outside is for potty inside is for play until housetrained.

You crate train, take her out often, and you praise her when she does the right thing.
