let's say whether it's sales (CEO) or Insurance sales, or car parts-- we all know that people in these caliber of jobs cheats the public by overpricing, or being conned into just having to have it--basically lies. Now, if one is truly Catholic and has this profession as listed above, and has to do this, how does the conscience sleep at night, or is confession 1X a week a good remedy?

Now, if you are a salesclerk at a dept. store or working a burger stand, you are just an innocent worker and do not have to cheat anyone. I hope this clears it up. You just make minimum wage, and if you go to high end jobs you have to lie, steal, and be crooked, so wondering how does one sleep at night doing this or do they?

i took a job at a car dealership a bunch of years ago and quit after 2 weeks because i could not use the strategies the company outlined. the money would have been great but my conscience got the better of me and that was it. i have never been sorry about quiting that job.
it had nothing to do with my religion, but the way i was raised and my morels.

I disagree with everything you said. People are either honest or they're not. It has nothing to do with the type job they hold. We have had honest and dishonest presidents. The profession does not make the person dishonest, but rather its the person that makes the profession dishonest.

Not all people in high end jobs lie and steal and cheat people. My dad is a CEO and he offers a very specific specialized service as a consultant. He gets paid what clients think he is worth. My dad is one of the most honest, upstanding men I know.
My husband is also fairly successfully in the banking world and he doesn't cheat, lie or steal either.
Some people do these things, but you are overgeneralizing.

Overpricing will be worked out by market equilibrium = your company will be out of business. No moral or religious reasoning needed.

"conned into just having to have it"

Which is all advertising and marketing and public relations. They will all burn in h3ll anyway - see Bill Hicks.

"we all know that people in these caliber of jobs cheats the public"? Really? Oh, please, citations to support this leap of, uh, logic.

"conned"..."basically lies"...hmm, you sound really jaded and bitter...with a fairly unrealistic view of the nature of commercialism.

Are ALL lawyers evil? Do they all cheat people?

Are ALL doctors pure and good?

Are ALL police officers crooks or "on the take"?

i became thinking approximately working for certainly one of those tax making waiting amenities, yet I study on their web site that their workers are envisioned to sell added amenities (often those on the spot refunds). i would not be mushy convincing human beings to do this because of the fact the fees of interest are exorbitant; so i desperate against working for that agency.
