If I score high enough on the ASVAB test, will I get that job?

Thanks. God Bless ya

I can only tell you about the Army. All of its soldiers in this new battlefield are on the front lines and must be combat ready. The enemy we face today attacks regardless of where you are. However, please look into becoming a DOD Civilian. They too work for the military and have great benefits.

The asthma will probably disqualify you from any military service; the exceptions are few and usually revolve around no attacks in a number of years which I do not think would apply to you by the way your question is phrased. Look into a DOD civilian job, as stated previously, and then you can serve the country that way.

With asthma, chances are you will not be able to enlist. All soldiers, airman, soldiers and marines must be able to be deployed at any time, no matter what job they may have on a day to day basis. Even admin guys can be deployed. Asthma would render you non-deployable and because of that you would be unable to enlist.

Asthma is a tough one, you might be able to get a waiver, I do not know. Go see a recruiter and find out, that said every job is important, so good luck to you.

I am not sure if you are going to be able to join because of your asthma, with today's theater of operation. Still put it a waiver and see, but talk to your recruiter and diclose that you have asthma and see what they could do for you.

if you have had asthma since your 13th birthday, you will NOT be enlisting. It is a PDQ with no waivers authorized.

SINCE YOU BELIEVE IN GOD...

... MAYBE YOU COULD BE AN
ADMINISTRATOR IN THE "CHAPLAINS' SERVICE" BRANCH! ;-)

That could be very satisfying!
