grasping at straws, or stomping out matches? your religion has been almost entirely debunked by it's own words, i'm just pointing out very obvious contradictions....

Magic...Or, I believe some are answering metaphor.
If you heard voices too, you'd understand when something from the Buy-bull is metaphorical and when it is literal.

Hmm.... From your mom! No seriously, I don't know if I can answer that except for the fact that there are people who should have very similar DNA due to being mother and son and have very different DNA! There is a family that has this happen to them. It's truly bizarre but in a very small percentile possible. Maybe that was the case with Adam and Eve. Otherwise I would consider that this story was written much after the actual time line and maybe the author took embellished a little. No joke!

The same source as Adam's original DNA, from the Creator.

I think you're reading too far into it...
The Hebrew Creation Story was written before anybody knew about DNA. The story is designed to give a brief explanation of how and why the world came to be. It is not neccessarily 100% true.

Like others said, it is a metaphor, and a pretty damn good one now that we know about chromosomes. Men have an X and Y, women only have X. So god took a part of Adam, aka his X chromosome, and made Eve with it. Seems pretty bang on to me. Can you find fault in that metaphor?

This is metaphorical. I am a Christian, and I don't take this story literally. How was Moses supposed to understand molecular biology? It's time for many Christians to accept science and stop taking the Genesis story literally. Adam was not made from dirt. Eve was not made from Adam's rib. How silly is this?

Grasping at straws, are we, eh?
You don't think God, who designed the DNA in the first place, could take care of something as minute as that?
And while we're at it, when God caused the egg within Mary to start growing without the aid of a male sperm, God was able to cause that baby to be born male.

not that I want to encourage you, but there are a couple of comedy routines by George Carlin that you may enjoy, I really enjoy them, guilty pleasures....if you click on this youtube link, you will have a lot of fun---I hate myself for give you more ammo for your pointed, snotty questions, but I do believe that you will have a lot of fun with this routine in particular and Carlin in general---I'll give you two links...

I suspect if that story is 100% accurate that G-d would be able to take care of such things. He is G-d after all.
