Does anyone know of jobs within the Chicagoland area that offer health insurance for part time workers? I know I heard rumors that Jewel and Starbucks used to, but with the rising cost of healthcare, I'm not sure anymore. Thanks for your kind reply!

If you work a certain number of hours with some professional staffing companies, you may qualify for group insurance benefits. Before working with The Creative Group, a division of Robert Half International, I was paying $1150 a month to insure my family of five with Blue Cross. With the (Aetna) group plan through Robert Half, my premium went down to about $360 a month.

Depending on which state you live you may have problems getting insurance to cover your medications with a history of migraines. Most companies in most states will at least not cover your meds. You'll need to contact a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can work with you to find if there are any companies that will accept you and on what terms. There is no extra charge using an agent. As mentioned, you can get your medications without insurance. Somebody else doesn't always have to pay for us.
