You see what they dont realize is that we know that our heart dosent continue to beat throught the night by our own will we know that God is in control... most people want a huge fireworks display when they forgot who carried them or their family members throught that recent car accident that the police said no one SHOULD have survived or when they had that surgery everything went fine or when thier child got hurt it was only a minor thing. God is omnipotent he does not have to put on a huge display but for the beliver it is well with our souls that everything is in the Masters hands...and we know better for us that firework display that the athiest looks for is constantly in the spiritual eyes of us who know that today may be it for us.... but we are thankful for any situation that we may be in wether bad or good because we know it could always be worse. And that His grace is sufficient for us

Who made sure their babies come out with all ten fingers and all ten toes can the athiest mom or dad manipulate the babies health or disease factor from outside the womb. Can the doctors gaurantee a sucsessful birth and assure that the cord wont choke the baby out as it passes thorugh the birth canal? It must be good luck or chance they say.... Those are the miracles of God we see with every passing moment and we can look to the heavens in silence even thorugh persecutin and say THANK YOU GOD ...only a person with the words of Jesus embedded their hearts souls and minds can see that.

However it is our duty not to be annyoed but pray that the Holyspirit opens there peoples eyes because whatever situation that they were born in that brought them to the conclusion of unbelief could have very well been our situation..and as much as we belive we could have been in the same level of disbelife like they are. Jesus said we are the salt and light of the world if you throw salt into someones eyes it will sting at first until Jesus shows them in their heart. We can only lead them to the waters...

jhon 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave His only begotten Son that whosever believ in Him sahll not persish but have eteral life.

I don't understand all the exclamation !!!!! marks in the question AND in the first few answers. Logically, a lack of belief in something (anything at all) has no basis for this joyful devotion.

I don't believe in FOUL LANGUAGE!!!! Yippee!!!!

See? It makes no sense. Magley's answer is the kind of response i would expect, and several answers after that.

I'm not atheist (is that a double negative? LOL) but in general i have found a lot of bright, sincere people on the A-team. It takes courage and knowledge to reach the atheist decision, gotta respect that.

I honestly do not care one way or another.

I personally find the odds way too long for there not to be some type of force or God...but that is my own personal view. I can see the logic behind atheism.

I guess I just think that it can sometimes be just as blind as the bible thumpers...it ignores a whole dimension and focuses on one side....and sometimes I wonder if without the view of the central aspect any real truth can be found....but then again I don't have atheists telling me i will burn or trying to redefine the english language so they can teach inappropiate material in public schools

The word "athiesm" implies a defined, documented, recorded philosophy of the nature of religious belief. There is no such thing: athiests don't go there. Athiests simply don't accept the premise of a God or Gods.

Atheism proven false? Wow, your IQ must be SO high! Like 65 or something! So you've talked to every person in the world and found out that they do believe in your deity, huh? That's kind of what you are suggesting.

Taken as the base meaning of the word it's completely neutral. There is nothing to feel anything about since it's the absence of a particular belief it is the civil middle ground. It's like asking how do you feel about non-racism or non-heroin addicts. It only says what it's not so you can't really begin to say what it is.

Of course like anything good you add humans to you can get chaotic reactions.

I just have to comment on this answer because it stunned me.

"I think atheism is sad on one level. I would hate to think that humanity is as good as it gets and there is nothing greater than us. I also think it is sad to believe that this is all there is. When you are dead that is it, time's up, life's over, nothingness from here on out. On the other hand, I find it prideful. The belief that there CAN'T be anything greater than us is a prideful stance"

"Humanity is as good as it gets"
Just the opposite. Creationism says man is as good as it gets. It says we're static and there is no chance of becoming more. Throwing off those chains that divide us and realizing how far we've come means that humans are all potential. This isn't as good as it gets we as a species haven't even started yet.

"This is all there is"
This as in the universe and perhaps other dimensions and universes beyond? We have set foot on one tiny planet. There is nothing but up from here or perhaps more accurately out, in and around. I could list the percentage of just our own universe that we currently know but I would fill up this page with zeros after the decimal point.

"When you are dead that is it, time's up, life's over, "
And as far as anyone knows yes that's true. But atheism doesn't exclude the possibility of 'something' after this life. But since no one knows it means is we treat the life we have as precious. We treat it like every day is special. If someone believes the best happens after you die there is nothing to live for. One might as well sit in the corner until they expire.

"I find it prideful. The belief that there CAN'T be anything greater than us is a prideful stance" Again that isn't atheism. How can a stance that allows that we're simply one more living being on an average planet in a massive universe very possibly teaming with life be prideful? It's the most humbling notion man has ever had.

Prideful is believing that you're the second most special thing in all of this universe. Prideful is believing that you were given dominion over every living thing. It's not just prideful it's arrogance on a universal scale.

I have very mixed feelings about it. While I am an atheist, I find myself constantly disappointed by other atheists when it comes to nonreligious issues, such as politics. How many atheists in America vote democrat or support politicians who favor socialism or communism? How many atheists take their cowardly version of passifism to the extreme of trying to disarm the general public, so we will be unable to defend ourselves against criminals? How mnay atheists support a foreign policy of surrender first and blame Bush rather than execute a counter attack?

Ahh... feels fantarific. An awesome feeling that just enables you to keep learning and learning. A sponge for knowledge. Ever had sex and the other person knew exactly what you like? Like that.

I think there are a lot of people out there who are atheists because they have done a lot of searching found that it is the only logical conclusion in their opinion.

On the other hand there are a lot of people who think that the religion they grew up in is wrong, therefore there is no god. Which I find to be a very uneducated approach.

You do realize that some of them must drink now because you misspelled atheist, don't you? I think atheism is sad on one level. I would hate to think that humanity is as good as it gets and there is nothing greater than us. I also think it is sad to believe that this is all there is. When you are dead that is it, time's up, life's over, nothingness from here on out. On the other hand, I find it prideful. The belief that there CAN'T be anything greater than us is a prideful stance. That is why we step out in faith and THEN receive proof of God's existence. Because He wants us to be humble as He was humble.

I don't think that atheists are evil, hateful, and refuse to believe in God so they can live a life of debauchery.

I think nothing about "athiesm".

But "atheism", well, I think very highly of it.

Atheism is an acceptance of reality and a rejection of irrationality.
