I own a shop, and I'm not quite sure how you would get these wires wrong since they just plug on, unless they were taken out of the plug, and were mixed up. The plug won't go on but one way, and has a clip to hold it in place. If you are looking at it as it bolts in the distributor, the three (3) terminals from left to right would be: On the very left would be 12 volt supply, the center one will be reference voltage, and the far right would be ground. With the igniton switch in the on position, probe to find one wire that has 12 volts on it, and hook it up. Now, turn the igniton switch off, and probe the others for ground using the ohms 1 scale, and hook it up. This wire is usually green. Hook the other one to the center. Turn the ignition switch on, and set your meter to read DC voltage. Hook the (+) probe to the center wire, and the (-) probe to the far right wire (with them plugged up) and you should get a reading of less than .5 volts. If it reads more, then replace it. The distributor needs to be rotated (before you do this) to where the reluctor tooth & pick-up are aligned. Stick a knife blade between them (in air gap) against the magnet, and you should get a reading within a half of one volt (.5) of 12 volts. Example would be 11.75 volts - 12.25 volts. In order to figure the correct voltage. Take a reading directly off the battery, and record this reading, and the test with the knife blade inserted should be within .5 (1/2) of a volt of what the battery reading is. If the reading is more; replace the switch. You can do this test with another battery, and the wires unhooked if you are in any doubt about the continuity of the hook up. I would think the wire on the left is probably red, and the one on the far right is green.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Go to a dealer and ask the guys in the shop for what you want.

Try a Chilton of Haynes service manual ---parts stores carry them for around 25.00 or try Eautorepair.net for online access to factory manuals for a small fee.
