Suicide is the ultimate act of selfishness. Selfishness is the exact opposite of the teachings of the Bible (or any other religious text for that matter). That's the short answer anyway. Most people contemplate suicide at least once in their lifetime. Some may think about it for an extended period of time. Face it, life is tough and the weight of the world can be too much to bear at times. I don't have an easy answer for how to deal with it other than doing what God commands in His word. Namely, focusing on the needs of others, making the world a better place, and always remembering to turn the other cheek (Matt 5:38-39) when others don't.

P.S. You're not likely to find in the Bible, "Hey, life is fair and you get out of it what you put into it." That's not why we're here. I hope that helps.

No..I don't think that the suicidal person is thinking of the afterlife..I don't think he/she is not thinking at all. Most I believe become so depressed or suffered an emotional trauma or drug addiction that for these the only solution is to get help but they don't...they just want the pain to go away. As for Hell
I believe there is an afterlife and many self inflicted deaths are not for us to decide it always comes down to the one True Judge for mankind...I cannot answer on his behalf. I think it is our responsibility to remove the stigma of mental illness, alcoholism, and depression so the people who are considering this terrible way to leave life an option of hope...but many realize very quickly that they just have to live with it because they feel like no one cares or they feel stupid and don't want to be labeled crazy even though they could have made it through with the help they needed but was too ashamed to get. As far as religion my brother became very religous in the last days before his suicide..he was a heroin addict of the worst possible kind and was reaching out to god to save him from his addiction. He was a user for about
thirty years of his life.

Last time I read and heard that Christian Leaders are rethinking suicides under certain circumstances. I wont go into detail but in short they accepted the fact that some suicides could possibly have entered the gates of heaven. I think leaders started really digging into it when some committed suicide because they werent in their right mind mentally or certain medications that were taken gave them suicidal thoughts

Just questioning is not going to help. I do not know who you are, but I reply on behalf of others who really should know the facts.
One gets the only chance to get elevated by being born on this earth, as a human. Now this is the last chance for the one to get real freedom. One who gives end to the precious life by his/her will, ( just drive a vehicle inncorrect the police send a challan) one goes against the will of GOD and has to repent.

Only God can judge.

God is just,merciful and good.

Many ,indeed IMHo most, suicides are under horrible stress, depression or emotional/brain chemical difficulties and so would not be fully culpable of the crime of self-murder.

Other things also stop people from killing themselves: fear of death or what's on the other side, love of family and friends, fear of hurting, harming or robbing others of support by one's death, fear of the "disgrace and dishonor' of suicide are among some reasons.

According to Dante, yes. Their soul goes to hell and is turned into a twisted tree that is ripped by harpies. When all souls have their bodies returned to them at the end of time, those who committed suicide aren't allowed to inhabit their bodies. The corpse is laid out, hanging on the branches of the soul's tree.

There is no hell, so no one goes there.

Using primitive superstitions as a basis for your life and what you do seems pretty sad.

Grow up. You don't go anywhere once you die. Your existence ceases and that's it. You won't have a chance at a meaningful life unless you understand what death means.
