That you say offensive things to Christians b/c you know they can not say offensive things to you back? And that your just waiting for them to so then you can say"aha! your a hypocrite!" Often on R&S I see answers from unbelievers that are just outright mean and offensive but, I rarely see Christians answering with such offense. Think about. Is it this a fair statement?

Often on R&S I see answers from Christians that are just outright mean and offensive. Just face the fact that people can hate people. Just face the fact that Christians can be offensive and Atheists can also be offensive. Just face the fact that some Christians are good and some are bad. Just face the fact that some Atheists are good and some are bad. Just face the fact that we are never perfect as the father is perfect.

I am human, and I make mistakes, so sometimes I speak in anger. I try not to allow what people say about me and God to get under my skin. I find it rather childish and immature that some people would stoop so low just to bring Christians down. I don't see too many other religions being ridiculed in this way, so no, I do not believe that it is fair. Everyone should be allowed to speak what they believe is right, and if someone disagrees, then they should say so calmly, and not act like a toddler who still doesn't know better to not make a spectacle of himself.

God bless.

LOL, I've seen my share of offensive things from so called Christians.

Personally, I *try* not to be overtly offensive. I do, however, point out what I consider fallacy, misinterpretation, and simply "crazy" things that don't make sense to me.

I will ask what I consider provocative, thoughtful questions and I'll take whatever answers I get.

Quite the opposite. One of my favorite hecklers on here is JinEnglish... Always has been. I love a good comeback to one of my jokes.

For the record- the "offensive" things I say usually aren't all that offensive unless provoked by the question... and I answer far more than I ask.

I've actually seen it on both sides.

Some people deal with others as if they are in the same room, and some resort to name calling.

I've seen Christians say awful things, and I've seen Atheists say awful things. I'd be surprised if many of these people would actually do it in person. People usually are more calm and less hurtful to one another in person.

It isn't fair but this is what Christianity is all about. If you are a Christian and a cut above the unbelievers, then grin and bear it.

You "rarely see Christians answering with such offense"?

you aren't paying attention, then.

I've yet to see a non-Christian tell anyone else that they deserve eternal torment, let alone believe it.
I've yet to see a non-Christian tell anyone else that their path is inherently "evil" or "satanic", let alone believe it.

stick around; you'll see plenty of "loving" Christians show their true colors.

I find that a large percentage of the self proclaimed christians here are very thin skinned and cannot effectively face a challenge to their faith without calling names or hurling insults.

No, that is not a fair statement. I have received more hate mail and rude answers from believers than I ever have atheists. Atheists are generally a pretty friendly, peaceful bunch. Christians find them offensive because of the precise nature of what an atheist is, and nothing more.

We aren't ridiculing you. We are pointing out what we think, same as you.
