there should be no sanction that can force a family to do cancer therapy, which doesnt usually work in thelong run. Morrtality rates on Cancer are pretty high--they die eventually. Their rights were violated. Besides, cancer is as curable as the common cold WITHOUT chemo, generally.......

In a medical sea adrift with lies and misconceptions, I cannot blame someone who forgoes on vaccinations for religious reasons, it is the only protection one has from vaccines that dont work and worse still, get the disease anyways. Those who think this is ignorance should do some research statistics on who got what after being vaccinated.

It really isn't religious; it is ignorant parents putting the population at risk by scientific ignorance.

Religion could be indirectly responsible by dumbing down the scientific knowledge of the population.......but beyond that, nah.

JaMan.....that was a family's personal decision. And if you're talking about the family I think you're talking about....they happened to be right. Their son did better and had a better quality of life on the homeopathic treatments.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) has taken no stance on medical care. Nor will it.

Read this link about Parker Jensen (the Utah boy that was referred to) and note that it says tests show that he does NOT have cancer:

The guy who said Mormons is wrong. I am LDS and am up on my shots, well most of them, I get the flu really, really bad when I get it, so I stopped getting it. Now when I get the flu, I am only sick for a couple days instead of a couple weeks.

A lot of Catholics do not approve of some vaccinations because they were developed with embryonic stem cells, which we believe is wrong. Thus boycott certain vaccinations....

Jehovah's Witnesses used to believe that but have changed their teaching. I guess they got some "new light" about it.

research,..MORMONS

one Mormon family in Utah refused medical help for their child. the child had cancer. they thought God would heal the child.

thank the REAL GOD in heaven that the courts forced them to do other wise. (damn Mormons) so so brainwashed, they were thinking that the doctors were evil (from Satan).

To be fair, there are other cases like this one from all religions.
