In my classes, i'm seeing lots of nurses. My question is, will my degree be any good without being an RN first. I'd rather do the paper work side versus hands on patients side. I don't have the special skills for nursing. So what can I do with my MBA in Business/healthcare administration degree If i'm not a nurse.

(responding to the answer)I love nurses and wish I could do the job. I just feel it takes a special person to be able to not get too attached and still be able to be effective. Maybe somewhere down line thing will change but for right now, I don't think I can be a nurse. Thanks for the information, it was quite helpful.

A lot of nurses, are needed in hospitals for the administrative aspects. Consider, the only reason a patient is actually put in a hospital is for the 24 hour nursing care, every other hospital service can be performed as an outpatient. Therefore, the largest department of any hospital is always going to be Nursing. Get used to that and get good at working with nurses.

That being said, there are a lot of services that are provided in hospitals that are not managed by nurses. These also require administrators. That is where your degree will be useful. You may be at first in charge of part or all of the physical plant of the hospital. Or in charge of other ancillary services. There are some departments of the hospital (unlike nursing) where there is not a push to educate and elevate, and those areas need educated administrators.

Otherwise, your MBA/Hospital Admin degree could be useful in other health care organizations.

You have many options. But no matter where you go in health care there will be nurses around.
