i've read posts that say humans are the only ones with souls, animals don't have it, and even human clones wouldn't have it, to those that profess to know who or what has a soul, do (or would) aliens have such a thing?

Clones, in whatever form they exist, do not have souls. Humans do not have souls. Animals do not have souls. In Genesis we read: Adam BECAME a living soul. Adam was not given a soul, he WAS a soul. At Genesis 1:20-21, we read God's command that the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls. Sea creatures are thus souls. Numbers 31:28 says to levy a tax or tribute and then describes it: one SOUL out of every 500 of humans, of the flock and of the herd. The Hebrew word nephesh is translated soul and is used of humans and animals. These scriptural examples show that the soul was not something inside the creature - the soul IS the creature, or the life that the creature enjoys. So no human and no animal has a soul. It is not a possession. It is the creature.

If you accept people as having souls then you have to accept that intelligent aliens would as well.
I read this great sci if book once that dealt with religion and E.T.s The pope said that E.Ts would have also been created by God, and if they needed a savior as the Jews did, then Jesus (in a different form, but still the same Jesus) would have gone and been their savior.
Im not religious by any means, but I really like the answer.

If human beings have souls, then human clones would. Clones are basically just identical twins, conceived and born after the original.
I can't speak for aliens. I've never met one.

If you accept that humans are created, and that God did in fact create all that exists, I have no problem with beings that we here on Earth know nothing about having souls also. (However, for a lot of people, that's a pretty big IF.) We'll see when we get there!
Have a great day!

Human clones would have human souls
Animals would have their own particular animal souls.
We on Earth would not know what type of souls aliens( assuming that there are such) would have, but God would know.
Soul(anima, psuche) would be the" life force" of whatever type of "intellect",will, emotion or whatever gives 'spirit" to the creature.

Considering that identical twins ARE clones, it's pretty insulting to them (if they are believers) for Christians to suggest that one of them wouldn't have a soul.

Maybe a human/alien crossbreed. That might be human enough.

And if human clones don't have souls, and it's ok to eat animals because THEY don't have souls...would it be ok to eat a human clone?

I depends if they wear shoes or not. I suppose if they didn't have souls I could hook them up with some boots or something. We can all have souls Hell I have two right now.
