I am a die-hard Gordon fan, but i still have to say that The King still reigns! I mean 200 wins? Who can argue with that. And to answer another question, No i dont think Gordon will ever catch him, nobody will. However, i do believe that before he retires, Gordon will have won 7 Championships.
Oh, and if you think NASCAR is so stupid then why are you in this section dumbass! Go back to the F1 section or something.

That is an impossible question to answer.....All 3 were at there primes in different eras of nascar racing.......When the king was king.......they raced 3 or 4 races a week.....there wasnt near the money involved in fact richard petty was the first driver to get a sponser with stp.........Dale Earnhardt Sr was a hell of a driver and he broke in at the tail end of the kings legacy......Jeff Gordons numbers are great but he was starting out when the multi car teams were just taking over......the only way to answer such a question would be to have an even field to compare them to...... You could also throw a whole of other drivers into that formula.....the alabama gang. the silver fox.. neil bonnet...cale yarbourogh...and numoreous others....One other thing would Sr and Gordon have done the things they did if Davey Allison was still alive.......hmmmmmm

Jeff Gordon hands down... considering the fact that at 36 years old he's already won more races than Sr... and Petty was racing in far better equipment than the rest of the field in a series that ran 2 or 3 races a week... is there really any doubt...
Neither Petty nor Sr ran in a NASCAR era where there was flat out this much equal footing among teams...

In order Petty, Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Gordon is not finished with his career. I agree with the guy about Pearson. One year he ran 22 races winning 11 of them and finishing in the Top 5 18 times. He knew how to save a race car and when to turn it loose.

DAVID PEARSON.
He has a higher winning percentage than any driver other than Fireball Roberts.
Won 105 races in less the 45% of the starts that Petty had. Won 33 of the 63 1-2 finishes between him and Petty.
Won his last cup race at Darlington in 80 as a subsitute for Earnhardt. Who broke his leg the week before at Pocono.

D) None of the above
David Pearson is the greatest driver in the history of NASCAR. He has a higher winning percentage than ANY of them and didn't have to wreck cars to win like Sr. He also didn't always have the best car like Petty or cheat as often as it has been rumored the King did. Even Richard said that the Silver Fox was the best driver he ever raced.

Whoa, dangerous question! I like Jeff Gordon, but would not try to label any one of these drivers as the greatest. I would rank them as 1. Petty 2. Gordon 3. Sr. I like em all, but they all raced in different time periods!

It's hard to compare drivers from different eras. I'm not a Jeff Gordon fan, but I'd say Jeff is the greatest. He can win on any type of track, and has proven it many times. Plus, Jeff can drive any type of race car which is why I pick him.
