Not trying to be offensive. Just curious what the appeal would be.

Is there anything God could do or not do that would make you stop worshipping him?

Hope, I'm not worried about proving that stuff. I'm not suggesting it is true. It is a hypothetical question, which means your answer is unfortunately not useful at all.

I worship the Lord for what I truly believe He has done for me and in my life. I believe Him to be real, I believe in the sacrifce that was made for me, I believe I am His child, I believe He deserves my respect and my worship. I simply love Him and truly believe that He loves me. . . .there is no hidden agenda behind my believing. . . .simply my life and what I choose to believe because of my life.

What could God do to make me not worship Him? Good question, and when I think about it the only thing I could come up with is if I felt He completely desserted me. . .if I no longer felt His realness. . .I wouldn't worship Him.

EDIT::: {{{{{LINZ}}}}} thank you for the sweet comments, it means a lot to me. = )

Okay, well if I believed neither of those things existed I would still worship God. When I came to the conclusion that there was a God--it was my first initial reaction, and I don't regret it. I think of it as a relationship of sorts--not like those people who talk about it in TV commercials--I don't think God's my buddy. But with a human analogy, I don't choose my friends because of what they can do for me. The analogy breaks down a bit, but I still believe that.

I'm probably just weird in some way.

Edit: Oops missed the second part of your question. What could God do to make me stop worshipping Him...if I believed that God was malevolent I would stop worshipping.

For me, worshiping God has nothing to do with an afterlife or answered prayer. God did the most ultimate thing for us, which was to sacrifice himself on the cross for our sins. He gave us life and for that he is worthy of all my praise and worship. Regardless of whether or not he does anything else for me.

If God had not answered my prayers I would not worship at all.

Afterlife or heaven is a promise I choose to believe because God has answered my prayers very consistently.

I don't really worship God to begin with (I'm Non-religious), even though I believe God exists. So I guess my answer would be no. In my view the God of the Bible is pure evil, and thankfully this god is only fiction, but if God where to do the things like the Biblical God has done I would not worship at all.

As a Deist, I'm not sure about the first thing and don't believe in the second, but I find that having an appreciative spirit about the goodness of the earth benefits me, not God, who I'm sure, if he/she/it exists, is above and beyond needing my accolades at all. I "worship" through music/literature/art, being intentionally grateful about my life, and spending time in nature.

Anyone who has really entered into a state of "worship" can tell you that it is a very peaceful & pleasurable state to be in--like when you see truly great art or hear a song that moves you or hold your child while they sleep. That's probably the closest way I could describe its appeal.

Because what I call God is teh Way of Loving Others, which I feel is part of the beauty of Life.

I do not view God as a giant who does things, that's a metaphor of language we use, so there's nothing he could do hypotetically. God is what is.

We, humans are made to worship Him. He is God. High above all human wisdom and rights. No one knows the power of Jehovah. He created us. He is a mighty and powerful God. But He loves us very much. He calls us his sons and daughters.

worship God is not just for your afterlife or answered prayer, it is also for a good hope in our life and at least, just a thank because He give a chance to live and give us a very beautiful face. :)
