There is no such things as demons. The ancient people had no knowledge of psychology so they explained all brain disorders as supernatural in origin.

ok say you and I are best friends and you are my room mate.
I had a really bad day at work which turns my spirit rather sour I have a choice to accept what happened or get mad and fume it off...there is a choice here but I allow the bad spirit demon or whatever you want to label it eat at me so when i walk in the door I start screaming and fussing at you about all the crap you have laying all over the floor instaed of talking or joking about it like we usualy do ..(you dont know I had a bad day yet because i just come in the house ranting about this and that) so as I am talking to you your spirit turns from annoyed to wroth even though you had a choice to walki away you chose to stand and argue your case with me becasue you feel you dont deserve my rant. So here is this big arguemt out of nowhere the biggest one weve had in months and things turn really sour between us when neither of us even tried to calm down...this my dear is spiritaul warfare demons ..not like theatriucal demons and infiltrate your life if you are not armed with the WORD OF GOD.
After the argument you are ready to pack up and leave the energy in the house is i'll when other people visit they can feel the tension between you and I, but somehow I feel better after the argument because I made you just as mad as I was when I was at work. The demons and devils are only out to kill still and destroy lives. So mypride gets in the way and wont apologize same for you, you move out I move back home with my parents becaue i cant afford the bills by myself and we never speak to each other again. Satan is happy God is displeased so much for bff's and we dont speak to each other until we are old and gray and realize how stupid the arguemtn was because we are both mature adults now and have to regret missing out on each others lives kids faimly etc and try to regrow a connection that was lost long ago. In this situation Satan won...demons satans monion do attack and destroy evrything they can!
This is a totaly fabricated story but you see the attck from the devil and How we constantly need the Lord. I pray.

When you try to take biblical text and Christian mythology literally, you wind up saying things like the Earth is 6,000 years old and dinosaurs were Jesus horses.
No, demons are never literal. Ever.

I have the feeling it is supposed to be literal.... just do a quick ask around to see how many people believe in demons, the results are quite disturbing.

Figurative as the bible is a Symbolic works of mankinds Spiritual nature.
Keep in mind much of with biblical contents are "added on" or inserted to support the Churches views. With that said, much was Left out to support those same views.
