About 2 weeks ago I suffered a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic shot that resulted in hives all over my body, from the neck down. Since they have cleared up I cannot seem to get my skin's moisture level back up to normal. Does anyone have any thoughts on this I'd really appreciate it thanks.

Aveeno makes a lotion for excessively dry and itchy skin, that would be a good starting place. Avoid fragrance and alpha hydroxy in the ingredients of lotions.
I would have to add... your skin itself is an organ and may be responding to a lingering problem and while you shouldn't freak out or anything you may want to call the office and tell his/her nurse about the issue. If nothing else, they may prescribe or recommend a better lotion!
I hope you're good as new soon.

It does sound like eczema. My daughter had this also. Just on her face. Go to the doctor just to be safe. I found a great product that used botanical based oils and it has made all the difference. Arbonne ABC Baby Line. Before my daughters checks were dry, red and cracked all the time. I would put baby lotion on every hour it seemed like. Then with Arbonne's lotion, I noticed the 1st day that I only had to put it on 2x. In a week, I she was so much better and I was only putting lotion on her after her bath. I used their baby wash along with the lotion and did not use any other products on her skin. It is now 1 1/2 years later and I have not used anything else. My 50 year old brother in-law had eczema on his legs and he now uses the Arbonne ABC Baby Wash and Lotion. It is so gentle and nourishing. He Raves about it. If you have never heard of Arbonne, they are like Mary Kay or Avon. You have to buy it from a rep. The good thing about Arbonne is that you can sign up for what they call a Wholesale Consultant Membership and get 35% off and not have any purchase requirements. It is like having a Sams Membership. So sign up once under a consultant and then you can order it on your own whenever you like. Arbonne also offers a 45 Day empty jar type guarentee, so if it does not work, you can get your money back.. I hope this helps and please email me if you have any questions or would like to order. I can show you the best way to get the biggest savings.

I assume you have tried moisturizers but have you considered if you are drinking enough water. Some drug will cause the loss of moisture, it can take the body awhile to adjust back to normal. Drinking more water than you think you want and continue moisturizing you skin. If that doesn't work after a couple of weeks you need to go back to the doctor.

Drinks a lot of water. At least 80 ounces per day. You can also try pure jojoba oil on your skin- that is a great natural moisturizer.
