Rear projection big screens are almost always removable. It could be clips or screws on a retaining strip. The real question is why did this happen? Is it sitting on an air vent? If so, move it or close off the vent very well. UNPLUG TV before attempting to remove the screen. Leave it off for a day or two to allow all of the water to dry out. NEVER turn it on if you see water on the screen.
Good Luck!

If it is a projection screen, yes, but it should evaporate by itself.
If it a large picture tube type as was said before there should be a protective screen in front of the tube. But, either way, it will evaporate in time. There is no way it can get inside the picture area.
You might try very carefully to "blow-dry" it with a hair dryer.

Were it me doing it, I would use my hand to test the temperature constantly, of the furniture/Tv

This sounds like it a LCD and something broke. May need a new LCD but it is repairable. May be cheaper to buy a new one. Hard to say.
I not sure what you have. LCD, Plasma etc. The link about LCD. They also cover other types, just search "How ____ tv works"
http://www.howstuffworks.com/lcd.htm
