Is changing the character from a Marine to an international soldier an insult to Mitchell Paige, whose only condition for putting his face on the toy was that G.I. Joe always remain a United States Marine?

The original GI Joe featured members of the four branches of the armed forces as follows; Action Soldier, Action Sailor, Action Pilot and Action Marine. The G.I. Joe name no longer referred to one specific character but to a toy line brand.
Mitchell Paige only served as the model for a G.I. Joe doll — in a series honoring Medal of Honor recipients from Each branch of the U.S. military so there was never a

I hate to say this but Action Man isn't new he was launched in the UK in 1966. Most Countries use Action man instead of G.I. Joe which was the American equivalent.

The article seems to completely miss this point and only talks about G.I. Joe as if Action Man never existed until Paramount invented him as a replacement.

Thats just weird, G.I. Joe is a classic and shouldn't be messed with. Although when I hear "real American hero" I tend to think of the budwiser commercials lol.

I grew up loving G.I.Joe and making him politically correct is insulting and wrong. I had over 200 action figures. They're messing with an American icon in my opinion. If you change G.I. Joe to international hero then change Cobra to a Muslim entity.

never heard the theory that G.I. Joe was a Marine. wouldnt make scense to me because Marines do not refer to themselves as G.I.'s.

The reason that he is not a "Real American Hero" anynore is because of the left wing one world order. People have become too PC. He is a real American heo and he should always stay that way. Go Kung Fu grip.

You could save yourself a lot of trouble by not believing anything you hear through the Fox "news" network.

The UN doesn't even HAVE an army --LOL!

There is no such thing as an international soldier. If you donate troops to a UN operation, you remain in the uniform of your country and obedient to the orders of your leaders.

This story is another Fox farcical attempt at culture wars.
