to lighten the mood in here, i've been asking "if jesus was a ___ what kind of ___ would he be" questions the last couple of days. the answers are quite imaginative and mostly positive.
as most of you know, i'm not christian, but these questions aren't meant to be offensive, just fun. it's not like i'm asking something gross or mean, so how is this blasphemy?
i figure if primoa can answer without being offended, then it can't be bad!

some Christians take offense at anything; they're usually the first to call someone else's path "evil" or "satanic" as well.
Why have one standard, when you can have two?

By the strictest definition...the actual definition, incidentally, no it is not blasphemous.
There is nothing in either the dogma or doctrine of the various main-line Christian faiths about this type of question... Unless you are doing it to ridicule him/her/it, in which case it is blasphemy. After all, the item at the heart of the definition is the Scriptures, and they people of the time didn't know what a motorised carriage was.

This questions is irrelevant but I'm sure it's not blasphemy. You have a sense of humour though....If you compare Jesus to a automobile, He will be a heavenly chariot which no man can comprehend & I believe he will even smoke a Buggatti Veyron. He is beyond any human comprehension.
You were saying if God can turn Himself into a car. Com'on. He ain't no lame Genie in a bottle or lamp.Genie grants you 3 wishes. He grants you blessings beyond your wishes provided you accept His son Jesus. He find more fun in giving you the ability to buy 10 cars instead of turning Himself into a car.

I'm an atheist, too, but surely you can see how people who believe Jesus is a god and worship him as such would take offense. Given that the celebration of his birthday now involves reindeer, snowmen (not many of those around Bethlehem, I don't think), huge electric bills and excess on every possible level, I can't see how your question is that big a problem. I guess the believers get to decide which "blasphemies" are ok and which aren't.

We, or at least I find it offensive that you make jokes about what we/I believe. I have been defending a lot of atheists in my answers. Imagine my disappointment when suddenly, there's a joke about Jesus here. I'm sure you meant no lasting harm but some of us might still find it offensive.

jesus & mohammed (if they even existed) were men no greater than me, the fact that thousands of years later they are still reveared is absurd. In 200 years from now all the holy wars being faught right now, will be considered mass murder in the name of fairy tales.

The real question is, "Would Jesus be offended?"
I'm not sure you understand what the word "blasphemy" even means.
What do you suppose the reaction would be if you asked this question about Mohammed in Iran?

im not religious at all, but i will not say for definaqte that a GOD doesnt or hasnt existed, i have seen many things that could be construde as acts of god, but the one thing that calls for the argument of existence is this, what kind of a god, what kind of "enlightened being" would stand by and see the attrocities that, most of the time we are doing to ourselves???.
a god would be a teacher, for all, not for one race, not the other.and if by writing this i offend anyone, tough titty, because i too am i god, A GOD AWFUL SPELLER.

I like how the guys who said it's blasphemy said "thou shalt not tempt the Lord almighty." Like you're tempting Jesus to turn himself into a car.
