if we deserved punishment for our sins, but Jesus took them on, why would god have made us with the capability to commit sin if he knew his only son would have to die if he did it? Whoever this "God" guy is, he doesn't sound like a very good parent, and is definitely not worthy of any kind of praise. He sounds like an A**Hole.

Sin originated in the Garden of Eden when Eve was tempted by Satan. God became flesh (Jesus) and paid the price for all so we would have a choice to love him or love the devil. What is your choice?
PS every good answer got a thumbs down... go figure

Sin became a potential immediately when the first human beings were given the ability to choose between good and evil. The moment the first evil/sinful will-choice was made is the moment the first sin was committed. But the ORIGIN was of man's choosing - it took origin in the mind of human beings.

Sin originated in the Garden of Eden when man chose to disobey God. Adam & Eve tried to cover their sin by using fig leaves, which represents works. God made coats of skin and clothed them, which required the shedding of innocent blood to cover their sins, which points to what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. God loved them so much that He prevented them from eating of the Tree of Life, which would have resulted in them living for ever in their sinful state, and us. We have a chance for eternal life by believing on His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Lamb who was slain for the remission of sins. I would say God is VERY worthy of our praise and adoration !!!

the origin of "sin" is the idea that we have the ability to be imperfect. once you have that idea in mind, the actual imperfections begin to follow. When you see these imperfections you think, "oh there must be something wrong with me" and believe you have done something wrong, but really the only thing you did wrong was to think you can do something wrong! its a vicious cycle...

The origin of sin lies within Adam & Eve in the garden nearly 6000 years ago.
He gave us free will.....and we blew it.
But Christ is the answer to sin.
