many of the crappy feelings the next day can be attributed to dehydration. Drink water at the end of the night and 1-2 glasses before bed and you'll wake up feeling much better

if you drank a lot then the next day your body goes through "withdrawals" from not having the alcohol anymore. it poisons your system and depletes a ton of natural vitamins, which usually causes headaches and dehydration. usually even if you don't get drunk you will pretty thirsty. the more you drink and the faster you drink cause it to be worse. although, there is a certain point where a hangover can be so bad you don't even notice the dehydration because you are just sick in eveyother way.

the best way to not get sick is to drink slowly, know when to stop, and have water in between drinks.
take a vitamin earlier in the day and it might help.

if you are already sick then drink a ton of water, have an aspirin, sleep, eat later when your stomach can handle it, and relax.

you will feel fine in time.

Even alcoholics get sick when over-indulging, either drink less or make sure you don't have an empty stomach when drinking. The only remedy is time, call in sick and go back to bed.

The biggest problem for your body after drinking is dehydration. If you have a bottle water between every 2 drinks containing alcohol, you will eliminate a large portion of your discomfort.
