If you discover a cure let me know, I've had acne since the age of 12 and I'm 24 now and still have them (they never go away)despite all the creams and antibiotics given to me by my doctor, plus I've tried all the various washes etc you can buy in the shops but they have proven to be an utter waste of money, I get so depressed as I'm supposed to be a lady but feel like an adolescent, I can't go on Roaacutane because its linked to suicide and as I'm so depressed already would probably result with me jumping off a cliff plus it has nasty ingredients in it and loads of possible of side effects so your like a guinea pig, I've been told by my GP that diet isn't a factor, and I'm healthy anyway and don't smoke, you could try natural alternatives, I'm trying Zinc capsules at the moment as Zinc is known to be very good for your skin. Try and avoid foundation as it will make your pores worse but you can try Witch Hazel concealer which covers up the redness you might have, you might be lucky and they could go away of their own accord, you are still only 17, unfortunately for me they only got worse and as a result my confidence is at an all time low, I detest just going out the front door. Despite what some people will try and have you believe there is NO easy cure for spots, and creams etc given to you by your doctor aren't guaranteed to work but that doesn't stop people judging you and thinking well why don't they just go to the doctor and sort them out, if only it WAS that simple!

My daughter has bad acne and she uses Acne Free from Walmart (2x daily). She gets the same results from this $20 knock off that she used to get with ProActive. She also eats alot of fresh fruits and vegetables with yogurt and limits the red meat to 2x per week. Greasy, fatty foods are a big no-no! She washes her hands often and does not rub her face. Watch the makeup and go for a water base, make sure not to leave on for more than 8 hours and NEVER NEVER leave it on overnight. Change pillowcase daily and never reuse washcloths. She went from potential scar face to an occassional episode but it took 6 months of religious skin care and diet to notice a change. Occasionally, she does get an antibiotic from the doc when her body break-outs get a bit out of control. Doc told her there is no actual cure yet but she can control the symptoms and she does. Keeping her face and body clean does the most good.

Some of the treatments she had from dermatologists made her super sensitive to sun which was just as bad as the acne and just as painful. She still gets some breakouts but the intensity is starting to lessen. We figure there is no One solution and the combination of everything does seem to help.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

I suffer with the same problem, i notice that when i don't sleep for at least 7 hours, i get more, also, you should try threading or plucking the big white heads off, it works no matter how disgusting it sounds. also, try opting for water all the time and use acne creams, moisturizer that are water based and are non comedegenic, remember, if you don't get sleep in week 1, you'll have them occurring in week 6-7, because it takes 6 weeks for the acne to grow.
don't eat spicy and fried food.
hope this helped. <3

Try Acutane. It is an acne medication that completely dries out your skin. So during the medication you'll need to apply lotion to your face to prevent peeling. Go to your doctor. He'll prescrive the amount that you'll need. Acutane cleans out your face, arms legs... everything. And it stays in your system for about 1 year after (depending on your body) This means that in the prime of your acne life you'll be treating it and then by the time your done, your face won't be producing as many oils. It's deication cause you have to take the pills everyday. Talk to your doctor. I had 6 friends that used it and it did wonders. the beginning is rough, but after that it's smooth sailing. good luck

Have you ever tried Dalacin? It's an antibiotic roll on (active ingredient is clindamycin phosphate) and it's worked really well for my husband who got adult onset acne. I think it's called Dalacin Topical Lotion and you have to get it from the doctor, but it has worked very well for us.

Other than that, keep your hair clean and off your face, don't use harsh cleansers and toners that will strip all the oil from your skin and make it produce more, use an oil free matifying moisturiser, and if you have to use makeup, use a good make which doesn't block pores.

Good luck!

You need a dog!

Not kidding - if you know someone with a dog - allow the dog to lick the area where you have the spots.

A dog's saliva contains many natural antiseptic qualities - ask my cousin - two weeks after getting a dog - hers cleared up - totally!
