Well... you'll probably be grumpy and unhappy for a while until the addiction is completely out of your body.
The point where you'll start feeling better comes when the craving for cigarettes is gone. That's when most people realize how much more energy they have, how much better food suddenly tastes, how they suddenly have more stamina and feel overall better.
You'll also start noticing how nasty cigarettes actually smell.
Plus you'll start smelling the smoke on people after they had a cigarette - pretty nasty.
It usually stays hard to resist the cigarettes for at least a year, but it does help to make a huge change in your life.
I've experienced many of my friends quitting and having exactly these stages. Unluckily, most of them caved and started smoking again. And they don't seem happy about it, let me tell you ;)

The most important thing to remember whenever you quit a bad habit is to REPLACE it with a good one that makes you happy.

Quitting smoking in the long run will probably make you happier, because you'll look younger and healthier, and you'll have more energy and better lung capacity. More oxygen = more good feeling.

There is no way to guarantee happiness. Smoking may be leading you to health issues which will clear up after you DO quit, which MAY lead to a better feeling and thereby give you a feeling of inner peace and happiness. Smoking is not good either way, so quitting is a good idea.
