IS it crazy that I am obsessing over this? Do you think it is strange that I am scared to have children believing that if Notadamus is correct the world will end in 2012. Thats in 4 years. I cant eat or sleep. And not only is it a prediction by him, but Mayan Calenders stop on the same date. Is anyone else believe this and if not Please tell me why you believe different, I would really like some hope.

I just dont believe that if god is really the god of love, he would destroy the earth he created..I guess if you dont believe in god though, you would believe that it is possible. But this isnt about religion.

Predictions always tend to wind up on some major astronomical date. Like 2012 for instance, the year the sun will be in line with the center of our galaxy. This happens once every 12000 years. The world is not going to end. I'm sick of all these mistranslations anyway. When predictions say the end of the age in Greek, or Latin, or any language other than English, translators here in America seem to always mistakenly put the word world in place of age.

Don't worry about that 2012 stuff. It's just a Mayan calendar.
Nostradamus only named one specific date in all his predictions, and that date has already passed. He said a great king would come from the sky in July of 1999; that's when JFK Jr. crashed his airplane and died.
Beyond that, there are no specific dates mentioned in Nos.
So don't worry about it.
Remember New Year's Eve 99-2000? The turn of the millenium was supposed to make everything go haywire? It didn't.

I found his predictions interesting but I forgot them so I guess I'm not obsessed by them. Now, that thing about the Mayan Calendars? Really? All of a sudden I feel as though it might be worth a little research, just from the interesting point of view.

No one can predict the future.
Nostradamus only seems to accurate because his followers have changed his prophecies to suit the past after the fact.
They are also so numerous and so vague that they could be interpreted to mean anything.
Rather then concentrating on the ridiculous predictions of some long dead man you should concentrate on your own happyness. Even if the world were going to end (which it likely won't) there's nothing you can do about it at any rate.

No, I do not believe this prophecy. Too many of Nostradamus' prophecies were proved false. Even if it were true that a meteor will destroy the earth in the next 4 -5 year - what could we do about it? Nothing. So live it up - do all the good you can and stockpile that karma.

No because only 1 in 50 of his predictions came true. It's more like throwing a ball at those gold fish containers at the fair. Eventually one is bound to be a winner. I think he was a loon who got lucky here and there.

No, they're far too vague to take seriously. My theory on the Mayan stones is that it ends on 2012 only because the stone was filled up. Somewhere there is another stone.....

I recommend that you read "The Mask of Nostradamus" by James Randi. It will reveal the REAL Nostradomus to you. You should be able to get it at your local bookstore or you can order it online at http://www.randi.org/joom/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=20&Itemid=28
