Yes, they were a previous myth.
Before the Adam and Eve myth came about, there were previous myths about how humans came to be. The Adam and Eve myth is loosely based on these. So, before the Adam and Eve myth, there was previous myth. The story is not only not true, it is also not original.

They were perfect creations of God with free will to choose to serve God just as all the spirit persons. The spirit persons choose to serve God until a women was made.
they wanted this person to worship them. In fact they later made human bodies and lived with women as wives.
Even producing a hybred off spring. This person actually brought sin into the Universe or into reality for the first time in probably over trillions and trillions of years.
Before everyone was a direct creation and not flesh and blood. But spirit persons.
The same perpose as the angels. To have life, move and exist. It is fun to be alive. They had a beautiful park to live in with plenty of food no thoughts of violence or war.
Think of living in Hawaii on a deserted Island just the two of you. Learning to love each other. It would have been a beautful thing. I saw an old movie like that once.

Adam and Eve lived in a paradise before the fall.
God created them to be partners to each other.
He gave them the earth and everything on it to use to live.
He put the animals under their care and even let Adam name the animals.
He came daily into the garden to walk and talk with them.
They had daily fellowship with God.
God required only one thing, that they do not eat of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden.
The kind of fruit it actually was is never mentioned.
He told them they could eat from any place else, but not that tree.
Satan came along in the form of a snake and decieved Eve.
Their purpose was to bring pleasure to God. God created us to bring pleasure to Him through our love for Him and our daily fellowship with Him.
That was broken at the time of the fall.
He sent Jesus Christ to reconcile us with Him.

God created Adam and Eve to subdue and fill the earth. They were perfect and in likeness of Jehovah in every way. They were told by Jehovah if they ate from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad that they would positively die. And they were friends with Jehovah and they lived in Eden, but the day they disobeyed Jehovah's command they realized that they were naked and they were kicked out of Eden. So we are descendents from our sinful first parents and thats why the earth is the way it is. I can't wait until the new system when Jehovah does away with sin.

Adam and Eve are from the religion of Judaism.
As interpreted by some denominations of Christianity today, Adam was Jesus Christ prior to the fall and Eve was the Virgin Mary prior to the fall.

Adam was the first race of mankind. They were not like we are today but were somewhat like animals. It took a lot of refining before man could even talk. The next race of Man was a bit more advanced. Finally years after the flood ( the submersion or the continent of Pan) man became much like we are today

They had an intimate relationship with God.Their bodies were capable of constant rebuilding and repairing so that along with the healthful environment and food they were provided, they never got sick. They had joyous meaningful work, to care for the animals, fill the earth with ther progeny and extend the boundaries of their Edenic home throughout the earth. (Genesis 2)

Yeah. they were Hunter/Gatherers. As Christ said "be like birds, God provides their food and shelter because he loves them, how much more does he love you?" They were just like the other animals in God's kingdom. He fed them. He kept their population down. He provided. And the average hunter/gatherer, even today, only has to work about 2 hours a day. (much better than our 8-12 we stress ourselves over) Truely a pure way of life.

God created Adam and Eve to rule over the earth and all that is living on it. they were innocent until the serpent tricked them into eating the forbidden fruit. that was when they noticed they were naked and lost their innocence. God created us in his image. But humans are sinful by nature.
