It isn't up to the Air force, it is up to the Doctor at MEPS. He would have to do a physical and see if he passes.

let him know that when he is doing his physical at meps with his shoes off, practice walking somewhat on the outter sides of his feet, the doctors won't go out of their way to see who is or isn't flat footed. thats what many people that were there when i was there did.

I know several people at MEPS were sent home because of flat feet.


Tell him to practice walking like a duck.(thats how they test)

Pes Planus (flat feet) is only disqualifying if it is symptomatic or corrected by prescription custom orthotics.

not necessarily, I have the opposite problem and through discussions with co-workers, two of them have flat feet and they still got in.

i have semi flat feet and that didnt cause a problem for me

Its possible but the only way to know for sure is to take the tests they give you.
