Learning to accept yourself as you are and to accept others as they are

Placing your full attention on this moment with gratitude for all that you have.
Too many people are running around trying to find happiness somewhere other than where they are. You can't find happiness anywhere other than where you are right now. That does not mean that you must accept difficult circumstances. Change can only come out of compete acceptance and appreciation of now.
Happiness is an emotion that can only be felt now. Waiting for happiness to magically come to you in the future only creates the emotion of longing and desire. It never creates a feeling of happiness. If you are not happy now there is no way to tell if you will ever be happy because your personal habit is to wait for special circumstances to be set up just right in order to allow yourself to be happy. That happiness will be short lived. It will only last as long as the special circumstances last.
Happiness is the result of a personal choice to look at the world in gratitude for life and every good thing in it.

The secret is to accept the fact that there is no such thing. Where is that written? Happiness is a temporary joy in the satisfaction of self. It passes and we wait for the next joy. The most one can actually hope for is contentment. Be Continent with all things. Moderation will bring the most joy.

There's no secret about it. Love what you are doing, and do what you love. Get sufficiently involved in your activities, whatever they are, to appreciate the satisfaction involved in doing them well.

A person who takes a job "just for the paycheck" would do well to focus on what they would rather be doing, and make preparations to pursue that line. But don't give up one job until the next one is lined up.

Psalm 35:9
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
