I want:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127311
I need to turn that want into a need.
How can I spiritually justify this want as a need so I can convince my wife of my newfound need?

Hee-hee-hee...that's an easy one! You need to it to contribute to your happiness which contributes to your total well-being...and if you are a happy person, you think happier thoughts, which leads to more enlightment making you an even better husband for your wife! (If she doesn't buy that, I can think of a million more! lol)

My technique is usually to find the same type of item, but at twice or three times the price, and tell my benefactor that THAT is the one I must have. After some very emotional debate and persuasion, I bring out the more moderately priced one that I really wanted.
It works more often than you'd think! But maybe only if you have boobs. ; )

You backed yourself into a corner on this one...
You got the "I wants" before you could come up with a good spiritual excuse.
You must get the excuse first, and then when what you want comes along, you can justify it by saying god sent it.
See?
And honestly, I can't figure out what it is.
Just set up a beam of light or something, that's universal.

Take up 3-d art for commercial work and say you need it to improve render times.

that's where having kids comes in handy. see i "want" a nintendo wii but i don't need it. so i convince my kids that they want it, which turns it into a "need" for me to buy it. i "need" to give my kids a better life than i had growing up. i need to reward my kids for a great report card etc etc etc.
my wants = my kids wants = my needs
LOL

If you want it enough during enough time till it disrupts your routine, it becomes a need.
