You are correct that trying to have a debate or conversation with someone who has already decided that you're point of view is worthless is a waste of time.
In these situations, they will argue with you only to "show you the light" and not to actually learn or explore.

Have you considered that presuppositions of any sort are not necessarily valid statements of fact, and that judgments arrived at in this way are not necessarily true?
Faith is required for belief in the existence of God. Faith is something different than knowledge, but it is not contrary to knowledge if coupled with reason. What you need to attempt to do is justify your beliefs and show why they are true.
That said, I do not think that all Christians are "ignorant", but I do think that they sometimes jump to conclusions about non believer's views, dismissing them as being without merit simply because they do not track with traditional Christian beliefs.

Not necessarily true. I have yet to see evidence of GOD's existence so I can't claim to KNOW GOD is real. I can however understand concepts like evolution/ adaptation to environment. See, the problem I have with organized religion is this:
Christian leaders, as well as other religious leaders, have - for all time - used their beliefs to commit atrocities against those who do not agree with their particular religious views.
Blind faith in your leaders will get you killed. Don't believe for a minute that the leaders of Christianity around the world, are without ulterior motives.

I suppose that in the fallen state of mankind, and the fact that we can't do anything without God then you very well could suppose anything that you want to.
I, who have been born or reborn of Gods' Spirit am NOT forced to arrive at any erring conclusions because it is Gods' own Spirit that bears witness in me of Him. It is the function of the Spirit to bear witness of the Truth.

This always presupposes that one is a Christian and the other is not. The Christian believes and the other does not believe. Since being a Christian is always by faith and not by works then a person who does not believe is just as correct as the person who believes. Neither can PROVE their side of the argument and thus only believes what he or she believes. Discussion is futile when this is the setting, and it usually is.

Very true...that would be equal and just.
I will admit I sometimes assume the people who preface their answer as "Well I'm a Christian" are clueless (I mean you don't hear "Well I'm a Buddhist/Muslim/Witch/etc"). I don't mean to offend Christianity but about 999 times out of 1000 someone starts an answer like that it then tells me my facts, observations and rock solid proofs are all false because their faith changes the laws of physics and the true events of history.
If I do this to someone who is giving real answers and real opinions then it is my mistake and I am working on it

I don't think that theists are ignorant "on any and all subjects," and have never even implied such a thing. However, when it comes to their belief in a god or gods, they are either ignorant or self-deceiving. There's no other way to account for people who have access to so much information believing in anything for which there is no evidence.

I don't think Christians as a whole are ignorant because there are ignorant morons that cover all walks of life. I just don't understand most of their opinions and beliefs, is all.

No, just because I believe your views on religion to be false does not by any means invalidate any arguments you have on any subject... why you might believe in god and be a pro at accounting, or maths, or just about any subject... our views would just differ in that one area.
Your premise is false.

We don't assume you are ignorant, we assume you are willfully ignorant(regards theism only), cause you never pay attention to us, you preach, preach and preach but you never consider the possibility that god is made up.
