I cannot accurately answer that except to say that morals are taught. We are brought up to do the right thing, say and respond in a morally acceptable fashion.
Now, along the way, we also learn what is wrong. Naturally, because of the fall,we seek the darkness.
Thats where our conscience comes in . Another function of the Holy Spirit is to convict us of our wrong doing.
I don't know about morality genes. I do know that satan is the temptor.

even though they haven't found specific genes for it, things such as anger management, temper, and conscience all have their heredity and you can get them from your parents. However, what they dont' tell you is that all of such things can be overrided with good nuture habits, so it really in a combination of nature and nuture that shapes morality. I'd put more weight on nuture because I think society shapes most of our moral character.
Like, in American culture its immoral to have sex with your dad. However, in some past cultures it was common for the father to take the daughter's virginity because apparently sex was a frightful thing and they felt it was best to be done with a familiar face before they are betrothed and married to whoever.

The core of morality is encoded in DNA. This is shown to be so. However, we have also developed ethics as well. This accounts for so many variants in the various religions and through history.

Yeh once I heard this. JOKE (Asian)
A man sat with newly engaged daughter in law and spoke: I want to tell you good and bad thing.
Father of the girl spoke: tell her good things only because all bad things she already now.
Perhaps that knowledge was from genes.

Actually, there's plenty of evidence that certain human characteristics are predominant in all cultures and probably are genetic. For example, compassion for the less fortunate, avoidance of conflict within a group, basic desire for rules.
These aren't very sophisticated ideas. Humans are social animals and like all social animals they have certain hard-coded bevaviors which they follow.

This is a straw man set up by evolutionists...If they can get you to belive that morality is from DNA, then they can get you to believe that they can get rid of "bad" "evil" tendencies by Manipulating the DNA code.....like they want you to believe evil can be removed by technology....Yea Right
They don't want you to know that God already dealt the death blow to evil in the heart of man....by the cross of Jesus Christ.
