"vampire short" draining the battery, bad charging system, or bad battery.

Have "Pep Boys" check the charging system. Also try disconnecting the battery at night and see if the charge is there in the morning. Dead give away for a short draining it.

You might also check the main 100 or 60 amp fuse either located on the positive battery terminal or in the fuse box. Many times when the charging system is not working the fuse is blown and makes people think the alternator is bad. Is the red charge indicator light on the instrument cluster on when you turn the key to the on position? If it is it should go out when the car is started. A quick test for the alternator, charge the battery, remove the charger, turn on the headlights and note how bright they are. Start the car and rev the engine. The headlights should get brighter. You can also check for a draw by removing the negative battery cable and hooking a test light between the cable and the negative battery post. After a minute the test light should be dim or not lit. If it's as bright as if hooked to ground and the positive terminal you have a draw. I've seen older Toyota rear window defogger relays stick and keep the defogger working even with the key off. Check the defogger terminals for power with the key off. Good luck, BAX

Could be you have an old battery with maybe a dead cell or two or a bad alternator. Check the age on both, then the connections, terminal posts to ensure a good connection, etc. You could take it to an autozone, et al for a free electrical inspection.

It could be a number of things. First, get a mechanic to do a load test on the battery. That will tell you whether it can hold a charge or not. If it passes the load test then your charging system (alternator) may be bad.

check that your battery has enough water in it. also get the alternator checked, as if the alternator isn't working, then not only won't it charge the battery, but it will drain the battery.

it could just be that your battery is too old and you need a new one, but it does sound more like the altinator

if the battery accepts the charge fully then the problem has to be your cars charging system have it checked by qualified shop.put your car on idle and switch all the lights note if you rev it up if the amp gauge doesnt indicate a charge or it is lower than the supposed normal charging voltage you found the fault.

Check is there is a Draw on the car, I have seen the trunk light stuck on causing the problem you are describing, try lowering the rear seats and look in there with the trunk closed and see if the light is on.
