If your legs are actually swelling- see a doc and get some burn cream! You could be talking about 2nd degree burns there. In the meantime - your body is going to be pulling all the fluids into your legs, so drink lots of clear fluids.

Try having a cool baths every so often, this will help with the soreness. If you dont have a bath then use wet cloths on the affected areas. Also, use a moisturiser or Vitamin E cream on the affected areas, this will help quite a lot (though it doesn't seem that way as you are trying to rub it in) There are also some spray on products that help relieve the pain, ask your pharmacist/chemist/druggist etc for advice. If the swelling does not go down by the time you start to peel then see a doctor, badly sun-burnt skin can be prone to infection. If you need painkillers for more than two days then see your doctor.

Having a first degree sunburn should not cause swelling. There might be some kind of an allergic reaction going on. It is my advice that you seek medical attention at this time just to make sure. Since the swelling hasn't gone away with the anti-inflammatory meds....I think you should call the doctor.
Take care. I hope it all works out ok.

Any extreme sunburn needs a doctor's attention; if you burned yourself with fire, boiling water, etc., you would of course seek medical attention. A bad sunburn is no different. You could be at serious risk of scarring and infection, so yes, there is a need to see a doctor.

Definitely, see a doctor.
And don't do that again! Very bad for your skin, in the long term.
