do you just kinda freeze, or do you trace your steps backwards, or do you really rack your brains and try to think for your self once in a while?

i am saying this because last night i saw someone on tv (some crappy documentery on some random channel that iv never even watched before) who says he strictly sticks to what the bible says no matter what.

There is a preacher here in metro Atlanta who runs TV ads for his church, and ends them with, "If I can't show it to you in the Bible, then you have no obligation to believe it".
Now, I am by no stretch of the imagination a biblical scholar, but I would love to see an atheist who is well-studied in the Bible take him up on that challenge.

I am glad you are still searching for answers and that you are reading your bible and being open minded.
The bible does not address every subject specifically, but if you follow the bible and it's teaching you will know what the right thing to do is, in each situation.
Example: according to the bible "abortion" is not mentioned.
But, Christians believe life starts at conception. That you are a person as soon as conceived. see as an example of this Jeremiah 1:5
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew [ Or chose ] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Knowing/believing this it would follow that abortion is murder and murder is definitely mentioned as being a sin/wrong.

I am a minister and the reason you go strictly by the bible teaching is because if you keep compromising the word then its no longer true,,example if you keep diluting salt in a bowl of water after awhile the salt as no more effect because its been deluded down to nothing
In Proverbs 1-2-3 it teaches that the word of God is your guide
Read the word for your self and you make up your mind

The bible itself suggests what to do. Catholics know that scripture itself confesses there are things not written down, but gives the authentic Church the authority to make decisions regarding truths and answers as time goes on.

If you truly knew the Word of God, you couldn't even ask that question.
But without the Spirit of God in your heart to discern and interpret the truth, His Word will never make any sense to you.
The Bible is a parable for the saved, not a textbook for the damned.
