Scientology was invented by L Ron Hubbard who started out as a Sci-Fi writer.

He stated “writing for a penny a word is ridiculous ! If a man REALLY wanted to earn $1-MILLION, he’d start his own religion”

After our 35 years experience in Northern Ireland which we are exercising with good results in AFGHANISTAN today, not to mention other religious conflicts we get dragged into to sort out,... WHAT sort of religion would YOU invent for future peace?

Re conranger !

HAD you READ my question correctly you would not be asking "what's my rant" !!!

I stated in the question WE HAVE JUST BEEN INVOLVED IN 35 YEARS OF A RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN NORTHERN IRELAND... and MANY of our troops lost thier lives there.

Today, we are caught in the middle of yet another religious conflict NOT OF OUR MAKING !!!

Simple enough for your understanding Sir?

YOU have caused my ONLY RANT not my question.. OR the reason for my question !

Re conranger 1

ANOTHER reason I posted the question in the Military section - besides obvious reasons !! is because it's ALWAYS US ie us the troops THAT GET IN TO SORT THE CHAOS OUT !!

Therefore it stands to reason that I would get a decent response from the actual ppl who are on the front line trying to sort the "religious chaos" out.. and for what?

I am reminded of a guy called Tony, who turned to his mate called Bill and asked him for help to deal with Kosovo a few years back... and guess what?

His mate Bill said "no way" !!!..

Go figure !!

Imagine that !!

Re DC Timberstone

Did YOU actually READ my question Sir?

Where in the words I used, could it possibly be construed to mean I'm trying to convert ppl to Scientology - OTHER THAN IN YOUR OWN MIND?

Phew !!!!!...

Am I the only one to worry about our Allies?... hmmmmm

Re conranger 1

It's a long time since I have allowed ann "Ally" to get to me.. and even longer that I allow myself the luxury of adapting a custom of our Allies - ie a rant and a rave.. so Thank YOU Sir.

I will end on a simple fact.. for you sensibilities to cope with..

Who was it who ASKED Tony this time for our help?

Just incase you missed more irony.. I'll divulge the answerJUST FOR YOU Sir,

It was of course, your current Commander-in-Chief aka George W Bush !.. and all because Tony wanted to be the nice guy and couldn't, as well as wouldn't say NO !!!!

So you want to ask your question again re category for this question?... or what does it have to do with Military?....

I kid you NOT... HIS OWN WORDS.. NOT mine - hence the link for your sensibilities...

Do check it Sir... One should always listen and obey ones Commander-in-Chief.....

Cult religions which is what they all are, are the abstract stories of men born well before their time(s) AD & BC who could weave greast stories and enthrall people who had nothing, were usually dead before they were 30+ were continually kept down by establishments who seized on religions as a means of indoctrinating the uneducated masses (who to this day still keep whole countries poor, uneducation, bereft of anything, condemned to poverty, disease and whatever!

Taks a good, hard, long meaningful look at the pre anglican church, the current catholic church, current Islam, current Budism and other current ancient religions, All their clergies live in preposterous privelige and wealth, never go without or want for anyhing!

Look at Soth America, the Phiplipines, Sudan, Africa in general, Indonesia, parts of mainland europe, the world over where catholoc and Islam predominate! The people have nothing, are denied everthing, are enforced to follow and practice antiqauted religions. The women to have babies annually, live in squalor .............................? Its endless

Yet the catholic church has been crowded with sexual perverts for centuries and committed every crime imaginable against women, men and children, even to this dayl As indeed did the clery of the Anglican church did regularly in the past and also to this day.

The same with Islam! The countless thousands (as a prime example) of young Iranian girls continually raped, tortured and dismmembered alive following the Ayotaolahs return. And not forgetting older married women and entire familes extinguished in total.

It still goes on in the Islamic workd - the world over - on a daily basis. And Islams clerics have been doing / practicing it for centuries!

Who in their right mind needs any religion??

I would like to develop a cult following by encouraging people to adopt the principles of a "LATITUDINARIAN" Especially when dealing in, or discussing Religious or Political matters.

By doing so they would then believe in:-
{a} 'Freedom of Choice':}
{b} 'Freedom of Thought':}
{c} 'Freedom of Actions':}

However such a Utopian state would basically mean that, because conflict and hatred had been eradicated; there would be no need for Politicians or the Military Obviously the Military could still exist but without weaponry, using their skills to create a remarkable ' Humanitarian Aid & Rescue Services':

I genuinely believe that Politicians would be basically un-employable in any worthwhile occupation, until they had undergone Brainwashing to reduce their Egotism and remove the Duplicity with which they are all infected. Sadly I do not think that Medical Science has reached the degree of competence and capability to sucessfully eradicate the Egos of the likes of 'Bush' Blair' & Brown etc.

I feel we should rename RELIGION to LIFE'S IDEAS. Religions can not be changed which can cause wars and misery where an idea can be alter to work with our changing world. I feel that we should stop focusing on a higher power and take that out of the equation and start working with our inner self as the true power is in us e.g if we do not do good there is no good. If people controlled their own actions than listen to a book written thousand of years ago that does not understand our world today we may have a better future. If your take all the stories and tales away from all religions the bare truth in them all is to be the best person your can and isn't that more important than being guided by a power we have never met?

A non religion, where you help mankind not a "god" , if people wanted to take comfort in something then i would encourage their own beliefs in a "higher power", but that is in the heart and head, there is no need for extravagant churches when around the world other mankind starves or dies of disease. As a great example of working together just look in front of you for an example of mankind working together,,,,,,! You can come on the Internet and find out anything from DNA, dinosaurs, space, atoms, photosynthesis. anything but it did not get here itself we all contribute, so working together we can achieve so much, so a religion (and i use that term loosely) where we believe in mankind.

I think something along the lines of Alcoholics Anonymous and its 12 step program would be good. It helps many people get their lives back and they learn to live a much more peaceful and full life. I’ve been in AA for 17 years and it has helped me so much i could hardly remember the way I used to be. AA doesn’t get involved in social issues it just focuses on helping people......and it’s been working for about 75 years. (I’m not exactly sure of when it started so don’t quote me).

A religion to worship good moral values such as loyalty, truth, kindness, charity, peace etc but none of the other mumbo jumbo

I believe it was a Parlimentarian in one of the European Union countries who suggested "Christians" just start refering to GOD as ALLAH.

Forgive my flippancy, but Same Guy, just use a common name... makes some sense. Not TOO unlike the Irish problem... Catholic vs Anglican ??

I'm thinking a future religion will be a merger of the major religions and science.

Religion and peace do not do together, and in fact are mutually exclusive. Religion breed fanaticism, and fanaticism breeds terror, so you could say that any religion in one way or another at some point in time will give rise to terrorism and bloodshed.

More people have died in religious conflicts than from any other cause. Another religion would only make it worse.

Gods word teaches-- That God will put it into their hearts to do away with babylon the great( worldwide empire of false religions) It teaches that -- the 7 headed beast with 10 horns( the united nations) will do it. Gods one true religion will stand, because they obey God as ruler rather than men, they refused to kill in the wars of hatred. Then Gods word teaches that-- that every kingdom( govt,armies,supporters)(99%) will be mislead by satan to attack Gods true people and then stand in opposition to God at Harmageddon which starts quickly after they attack his people( 1% )

How does Chrislam sound? Combination of Christianity and Islam. Sound strange, think it will never work? Guess again, this is a growing new religion in Africa and it looks at what the two religions have in common and not what are there differences.
