If there was no Bible, or other holy books, what would you know of God?

I'm curious as to how people learn about God. What other methods are used besides the ancient texts?

Dave B. you've read a lot into my question and made a very unfair assumption about me.

Many people speak of God using only quotes from the Bible, as if only Bible authors have insight to God.

I am curious to know if those people used other methods of learning about God. If they would still claim to know God if there were no Bible.

Just so you know, I don't give thumbs down when I ask a question.

Probably like in ancient days.

I'd wonder where we came from, how did all of this get here, etc.

Then I would meditate on that until I was enlightened.

The church did a fine job of promoting Christianity for some 400 years, without a bible.

The Jews and Hebrews sucessfully maintained their faith tradition for almost 1800 years, with only 5 old testament books in existence for much of that time.

Authentic, sacred Tradition is the way that God has always guided his people, from age to age.

And no matter how messed up things might get, God's grace never fails to empower people to discover (or rediscover) God's truth.

The vast majority of individuals experienced/experience their god(s) by participating in their society's religious rituals and hearing the stories told orally that explained them and their world. Writing is a relatively recent technology, and books/libraries that the average person could access and read much more recent even than writing.

Before they wrote books, the "discoverers" of religion may have first had mystical experiences. A.k.a superconsciousness, some say this is the union of individual consciousness with that of God. It's hard to explain the experiencet though.

It shows He apprerciates beauty.
He is a God of order.
Watching any monkey reveals God has a sense of humor.
A new-born in your arms shows God knows about tenderness.

Creation of Universe – A Proof for Presence of All-Mighty God:

Touch yourself you are a real body with feeling and senses and an imagination; if you are reality then this event is not a dream. Lo! God is creator of that matter and innovator of Big Bang!. Mark a blue point at the tip of your nose and try to see it without glass. Can you see? We cannot see radio, T.V., Mobile, wireless signals but small machines can see them! This mighty creation and continuity of same message to all nations in different ages, different lands and different languages is wonderful and undeniable proof for people who think. We will discuss about this in detail.

Look! he gave us life, and believing him gives meaning to our existence, otherwise; all this birth, …, and death! Oh! Nothing not even a nought! He is infinite, immutable, eternal, good, Omniscience and Omnipotent. Believe him personal, transcend and unique.

Quran again and again gives invitation to think about the mysteries of this universe and it will automatically reveal about the power of its creator.
