That depends.

If your making something tasty to drink then i dont think its a problem.

However, if your juicing vegetables specifically for the health aspect then i really wouldnt recommend it....

most fruits are acidic. this is not a huge problem as on an empty stomach they can still have an alkalizing affect on the body, even though they are acidic.

however when eating fruits combined with other meals it can change the overall ph of the meal. which can mess up some of the goodness from the meal you just ate... especially if its veggies, like a leafy green salad.

also, with fructose the sugar in fruit, its very good for us and it doesnt have to go through the bodies blood/glucose system for us to use it, making it a great readily available energy source.

however, this sugar when eaten not on an empty stomach, can actually partially ferment the food in the stomach.

Personally, i prefer to eat fruit or drink fruit juice on an empty stomach, it gets into your system faster and doesnt mess with whatever else im eating, its great in the morning.

if your having vegetable juice and your finding it very hard to get it down due to the taste, i would suggest squeezing half a lemon into the juice after its made.

a tiny amount of lemon juice adds a lot of flavor without the big acid/sugar price tag that other fruits have.

Most vegetables don't make tasty juices. Carrots and tomatoes are the exception. Adding carrots and apples will make any vegetable juice palatable.

Pineapple is also suitable for juicing with vegetables.

Any other fruit juiced with veg is going to make for some bizarre tastes and should be avoided - nothing to do with enzymes or health, just to do with taste.

The books I have read say that although it is not bad it's not recommended. This is because fruit and veggies require different enzymes to be properly digested. But I say fooie! Veggie smoothies are just plain hard to chock down without some fruit to sweeten it up.
