Is There a secret military base in the bush of tasmania?

I live in the south of tasmania and its long been rumoured that there is a secret military base deep in the bush where politicions can hide if a war ever broke out.

First i thought it was bull crap, but then a few days ago 6 F-111's flew over the valley where i live (South tasmania). Then yesterday 2 bushmaster (like US Humvee but more heavy duty) drove past my house at high speed, the evidence is starting to mount up.

Has anybody else heard anything about this before or believe that there may be a base here?

I think The road near my house IS a secret Route, since i live WAY out in the bush not many cars come past.

It is only a high-tech communications base . In Geraldton, Western Australia .For a new network of military satellites .
The base, about 370 kilometres north of Perth .The Defence Minister Brendan Nelson confirmed that talks were continuing with the US Defence Department with the possibility that more stations could be built at other locations around Australia.Once the base was operating it would almost be impossible for Australia to be fully neutral or stand back from any war in which the US was involved.

O and the u.s. will not be selling the F - 22 to Australia after all

i don't think so. usually anything topsecret places are leaked to the media. and if was real and top secret...you wouldnt have seen the humvees. they would have taken the route where no one sees them.
