Approximately how much would it cost to add a small apartment to my house. I have a brick home and I want to enclose my carport to make a small apartment for my Mom she wants one room for dining and a small den. A small kitchen and a small bathroom. I may have to extend the carport some. Any guess would be appreciated. My house was built in 1968 and the roof is approx 8 years old.

A lot is based on where you live. Not counting the stove/oven sink.... Just the walls, floor, windows could run 6-7 thousand. I would call three or four contractors and ask for a bid.
1. get a idea what you want up front. Stand in room and picture in your mind. Write it down
2. get bids.. Remember the cheapest is not always the best
