Please don't be mean... i am thinking about applying to miss hong kong 2008....just wanna see what you guys think
i am 22 now, 23 in 2008...
5'6"
just graduated with a bio degree from a decent school in CA
planing to go to med school, but miss hk has always been my "童年夢想“﹐ so i wanna give it a try
i speak fluently in cantonese, mandarin and english...
and i think i can handle Q&A in canto
but the problem is:
i wasn't born in HK and don't have an ID card...=( do you think they can bend the rules for me =( and i thought they do take 5 contestants from overseas right?
also, for the 提名人do people usually find those 名人 to help with their application?
i have no idea how to post pictures here

You should still apply and if you are not selected due to residency requirements, you may try your luck for Miss Chinese International. You seem to fit the saying "Mens sana in corpore sano..." so your winning chances at either pageant are very good.
I think one of the requirements is to be accompanied by an older gentleman, preferably bald...what a strange rule, but you must follow it...and you are in luck, turns out that I am available ;)
Good luck

Oh yes, you look too tanned...but it's hard to tell from a photo, so I would have to give you a second opinion after I inspect you thoroughly in person...but contact me quickly, my appointment book is getting full...
But joking aside, if this is really you on the picture, I think I would not worry too much about the tone of my skin, "it's not too light, not too dark, just perfect", like Little Bear would say about Goldy Locks...

I dont think tan will be a problem since the contest's main goal is to pick a contester who has great beauty and I think you do have all the requirement. Dont put so much pressure on yourself. Just go ahead on what you want to do, your career can go to the next level when you experience more through this contest and you may have more experience of perspective on everything

aww that is also my 童年夢想 as well! =D
Well if you're parents are from hk, you can get an ID card because that's how i got mine
And if not, just try for another pageant in china
It sounds like you'd be a perfect contestant for this and there's no reason not to try. it's not like you have anything to lose because you seem smart!
Ahh i'll watch for you!

I think your age is like perfect for miss hong kong.
Since you don't have an ID card then you should probably do a miss international. then join the miss hong kong.
like th epart that you said they take 5 contestants from oversea. they only take you if you've already become miss something somewhere else in america.

Well, if your parents were born in HK, then you are eligible to get a HK ID. Your picture is not bad. No one knows if you can win but that doesn't mean you can't try right?
