You guys are right I just saw on the rewind where they said it was Lowe's, Smith, and Johnson that was matching Johnson's winnings. Wonder how much?

I've been reading it's been about 6 different companies/people/racing organizations donating. May turn out to me 2 million before it's over.

Jimmie's purse was $343,861 for winning the race. He said that Lowes, Hendrick, and Bruton would all match that. So add it all up.
343,861 x 4 = $1,375,444
But, to specifically answer your question, the total of JUST Bruton and Jimmie's donation $687,722.
I live about 2 miles from areas affected by the fire, was evacuated as a precaution but was one of the lucky ones. I have MANY friends and family members who were not and lost their homes. There are still people living in their trailers in grocery store parking lots, waiting to see if they have homes left standing or not. I know they are so thankful for all the help they can get, so it is really going to help a lot of people.

Jimmie Johnson said he'll contribute all his winnings for the race to the fire cause in CA, Bruton Smith and Lowe's both said they'll match him.

Im not for sure but Jimmie said in a pre race interview that it would exceed well over a million dollars. Im not a #48 fan but I think thats a great thing him and Lowes and Bruton did.

After the race JJ said over a million. Not a JJ fan, but I had to pull for him this week, since he was donating the winnings. It's nice to see high profile people thinking of the less fortunate.

It was a great thing for the "hometown" boy to give back the the fire-damaged area he is from. That is a great example of "giving back"! I understand that with Lowe's, Johnson, HMS and everybody, it was over a million $$$$$.

It sort of snowballed. What everyone else has said is true but then the Frances and others jumped on board so it ended up being well over $1,000,000.
