I have had these chest pains since I was about 8 and doctors can't figure it out. They usually come up after exercise, caffine, or a lot of stress. It hurts to breath in and it feels better if I just hold my breath all together. It lessens the pain if I lay in weird positions like twisting my body. Tylonol and stuff like that help but not much. Anyone have any idea what it could be? I am now 19 and I'm tired of not knowing.

When you say the doctors can't figure it out, does that mean you've had diagnostic tests run or just doctor visits?
In particular, although the description of the pain doesn't particularly sound like it's related to your heart the relationship to exercise might - ,
there are a few cardiac problems that can affect kids and can be very serious. You need to be checked specifically for these things if you have not . There are a couple of specific tests such as a basic EKG and an echocardiogram you should have been given. If you haven't had them, talk to your doctor about seeing a cardiologist. Good luck.

You could have some kind of inflamation of the muscles between your ribs. Try taking some anti inflammatories like Aleve, and do some regular stretching exercises, and see if that helps. You may be involuntarily tightening those muscles when you are stressed, or hyped up after exercise or caffeine. It also may help to do some deep breathing and relaxation exercises.

Hope this helps
