Hct is hematocrit, the %age of your blood volume that is red cells. Yours is slightly high, nothing to worry about. Be sure you are drinking enough water. If you smoke, quit.

Hct is hematocrit. This test measures the concentration of red blood cells in the blood. The normal range can vary from lab to lab. My lab range for a female is 36%-46%. 44.4 is not even moderately high. It can be caused by dehydration, severe diarrhea, polycythemia vera and a number of other conditions but your values are nothing to worry about. Perhaps you should have had more water before the blood draw. Your doctor will interpret your labs for you.
