In my lab we do phone calls two weeks after they start optimal cpap to see how everything is going and address any issues they may be experiencing. We also have letters sent out to remind them to do followups 30 days after starting optimal cpap. We have a computer program called encore that all of our patients are listed and we send out reminder cards every three months for supplies and to remind to set up a followup if they have any problems or concerns. The sleep techs and RT's are very involved with followup up care (probably more than most labs) as well as the Dr's. We have no problems keeping up. But we also have 2 physicians who see sleep patients and we run six beds a night. I dont know if this helps you or not.

It can be done in one day if the day in question is done in "clinic" format.
Opthomologists in multi-doctor practices have "clinic" on the days when they don't operate. All of the patients coming in for 1-day post-op, and 2-week follow-up come to morning appts, and they schedule 8 patients per hour, EACH. They are finished by noon, and have seen 32 patients each. (8am to noon).
I would think the same could be done with CPAP patients.
