I have been on Chantix for about three months. So far in October I have not bought any cigarettes, but I have bummed a cigarettes on two occaisions from a friend. I still have a real craving at times, but the frequency of the cravings is going down.

It is worth noting that I have another powerful incentive to keep off cigarettes. I had a heart attack and coronary bypass surgery in May.

One other person I have talked to in cardiac rehabilitation (the wife of another heart attack survivor) has told me that she has had no urges to smoke since she started taking Chantix.

While it's not perfect, about 80% of the patients I've talked to have significantly reduced cravings while on cravings.

It gave me such mouth sores I wasn't able to eat! I had to quit taking it after the first 2 weeks.
